February 28, 2018

If you missed it, we released X 6, Pro 2, and Cornerstone 3 today. With regards to Pro, in many ways this update represents the culmination of our initial vision mixed in with a couple additional features that round out the experience. The initial feedback has been phenomenal, and we are excited to finish this launch cycle strong. On that note, I wanted to explain a bit about some changes we've made to the update process and what's coming up next.

Launch Cycle Changes

Updates are an extremely busy time around here. Over the years, we've experimented with several different formats and feel we've found a path that is both efficient and measured. We are testing it out with this cycle, and the sequence looks like this.

  1. Beta Testing (in this cycle we had approximately 6 rounds).
  2. Initial release to manual updates (started February 28).
  3. Point releases as needed.
  4. Release to automatic updates.

The Changelog explains everything that was updated in detail with the Release Notes tracking important news throughout the cycle including known issues, release schedule, and FAQs. Think of it as your hub for up-to-date information related to the current cycle.

Update Highlights

There is much to be excited about in this update including the new Template Manager, Global Blocks, several new and updated Elements, a whole lotta squashed bugs, and Design Cloud.

Design Cloud has a bright future ahead, and if you hadn't already noticed we have built in a way for customers to share any templates they wish for potential inclusion in the library. Think of it as an automated, centralized way to share assets with others in the Themeco community.

What's Next?

Immediately following this launch cycle, the team will be embarking on various usability improvements and legacy bug fixes (sticky bars anyone?). In the coming weeks we'll be sharing a more concrete list of what we are working on, however it's important to keep in mind that no new feature development will be conducted during this cycle. After this next cycle, we're looking forward to getting back to a more normalized pace of development.

There are a couple of other things we are working on including new products, services, and partnerships. We'll be sharing more on this front soon. As our team and customer base continues to grow, we are thankful for the opportunity to work together with each and every one of you. 2018 is shaping up to be quite the transformative year in the life of Themeco, and it is our highest priority to continue to serve you with excellence at all times and in all ways.
