Howdy Friends,

This is going to be a little good news bad news type of update (and if you're anything like me, you like to hear the bad news first, so let's start there).

Cornerstone Standalone

We have a pretty ambitious vision for what we are dubbing "Cornerstone Standalone."

Some of you may have concluded that we already have a plugin version of Cornerstone...and we have...for about 6 years!

But what we were planning for this new product was going to push boundaries in some new ways we felt needed to be pushed.

However...

As we began testing it in the real world, there were some conventions that didn't feel quite right.

Without going into all the technical details, the bottom line is that it is going to need some more work.

What does that mean for you? Well that's where the good news comes in.

X & Pro

If you've been following the Status Reports for the past few months, you know about a new version that has been in the works that includes many new features and fixes in addition to an updated interface.

We're ready to move forward on this update, and it's time to beta test! We're going to go back to the normal testing process so be on the lookout for the email if you are in the beta group.

It will be as early as tomorrow (9/22) and at the latest Monday (9/26). We don't like to begin a beta on a Friday for obvious reasons :)

Personal News

We have had the distinct privilege of working with an incredible team of people for a very long time. One of those people is our backend developer, Alex.

If you've spent any time in the forums, or used any part of our product over the past 8 years, you've seen Alex's handiwork.

He has been an integral part of the team, a world-class engineer, and more than that, a close personal friend.

About a month ago, we started discussing a new opportunity that he was excited to explore, and even though we will miss him terribly, we couldn't be more excited for him and his family.

He's not going anywhere just yet, but he will be working in a more limited capacity (and helping train his replacement who started last Friday).

If you see Alex around the forum, be sure to send your well wishes or leave a comment on Facebook & Twitter.

You are an absolute treasure, my friend. Thank-you for everything you have done to serve Themeco well!

All my best,
Kyle
