Slider - not working

Hello team,

We have x-theme implemented on an old site. The slider behavior is not as expected. We have included two images:

Included is the code:
[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section bg_color=“hsl(0, 0%, 100%)” parallax=“false” style=“margin: 0px;padding: 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=“true” marginless_columns=“false” style=“margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px 0px 5px;”][cs_column fade=“false” fade_animation=“in” fade_animation_offset=“45px” fade_duration=“750” type=“1/1” style=“padding: 0px;”][x_line style=“border-top-width: 1px;”][x_slider animation=“fade” slide_time=“7000” slide_speed=“1000” slideshow=“true” random=“false” control_nav=“true” prev_next_nav=“true” no_container=“false” style=“background-color:white;”][x_slide] [container][blockquote cite=“AAA” ]ABCDEF[/blockquote][/container]
[/x_slide][x_slide] [container][blockquote cite=“BBB” ]GHIJKL [/blockquote][/container] [/x_slide][x_slide] [container][blockquote cite=“CCC”]MNOPQR [/blockquote][/container] [/x_slide][/x_slider][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]

As per documentation, this is the behavior desired (https://theme.co/docs/sliders):
Additionally, the Slider (Stacked) Element can be used when it is desireable to show one slide at a time with a crossfade or effect transition into one another as you navigate through the Slider:

Please advice the changes needed or steps we are missing. Thanks.

Hey Cristian,

Based on your screenshot, you’re using the Classic Slider not the new Slider Element. Use the Slider element.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

The new slider element, is to be created as a new element - is there any way to transport or migrate from classic slider to new slider element?

Thanks.

Hello,

Following the steps in the video from 16:00 about how to add a new slider, when I click on add an element - it does not show the list of available elements - I am not able to add slide container. On click of ‘+’, nothing shows up, it automatically adds a new row.

How to Build Sliders in WordPress - YouTube

Please help.

Regretfully, no. You need to build manually.

Hey Cristian,

Regarding the click the + adding a new row, that sounds like you’re clicke the + icon of the section and not the Element Library. Please show a screenshot of what you’re clicking.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,
When we try to do as suggested, the element we wish to select ‘Slide Container’ or ‘Slide (Stacked)’ is not clickable/ selectable. None of the ‘Elements’ are clickable.

Please let us know if we are missing something. Thanks.

Hey Cristian,

What you’re showing is meant to be dragged and dropped to a Column or any droppable area like the Div element. You don’t have that in your screenshot so you need to add a Column in the Row first.

A droppable area looks like this:

You can only click on an element in the Element List IF you click + of a droppable element like the Column and Div.

Hope that helps.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the steps. In effort to achieve a slider (stacked), we followed the steps, but

  1. the navigation is not aligning in the center
  2. the content itself is right aligned, tried to use the padding but the slide container is not getting aligned with the padding (left) and continues to be left aligned
  3. the pagination effect is not updating the data slides, as three slides appear to be vertically stacked, as against expected behavior of horizontal stacked
Please see screenshot and let us know the required settings to look for.

Please help.

Hey Cristian,

The styles of the slider looks broken. A 3rd party plugin or a custom code is probably causing it. Please do and provide the following info.

  • Deactivate all 3rd party plugins

  • Switch to the parent theme if you’re using a child theme

  • Remove all custom CSS & JS in Theme Options > CSS and Theme Options > JS

  • Provide the following info in a Secure Note

  • URL of the page where we can see the issue

  • WordPress Login URL

  • Admin username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

Could you help with this check - not sure how to proceed?

  • Switch to the parent theme if you’re using a child theme

Please help. Thanks

Hi Christian,

We started afresh by trying to add a slider(inline), but the default action is not working as expected as not able to change the settings. Reference used: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wEKA7owiCA)
Please see attached screenshot identifying the two issues:

  1. the navigation arrows are sitting at the bottom of the slider and not behaving as expected and is cutting the bottom of the text
  2. the width of the slider does not expand to cover the page

Please help. Thanks.

Hello Cristian,

Thanks for writing in! Before we continue troubleshooting the issue, please make sure that you have updated to the latest version. I can see that you are using Cornerstone 6.1.4 with an out dated X theme 9.0.8 which are not compatible. Our latest versions are:

You can find out all the latest supported and available version here:

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi Ruenel,

Please share any step-by-step recommended step to upgrade X theme to 9.1.4, do not want to break anything in the process. Thanks.

Hello,
I saw below mentioned in the documentation, our product is registered, and we have not received any update theme. Under ‘Dashboard’ > ‘Updates’ - this message is showing up
“Your themes are all up to date.”

Automatic vs Manual Updates

There are two ways to perform the update process:

  • Automatic Update: as long as your theme or plugin is validated, you will have automatic updates available to you. This means that you can update your product with a click of a button and you do not need to download any installation file. Click here to learn more about product validation.
  • Manual Update: if for some reason you want to update the product manually, you need to download the latest installable file of the product and then upload it yourself either via the WordPress dashboard, or via an FTP connection.

How to Perform Automatic Updates

To update your product automatically, go to the WordPress Updates page from the WordPress dashboard here:

How to Update

If an update is available, you’ll see it in the list under ‘Themes’ or ‘Plugins’. Select the product that you want to update and click on the Update button:

How to Update

Hi Christian,
We have added the slider, but facing few issues:

  1. not able to convert it to stacked
  2. the alignment of the content is not centered
We have provided the details in a note. Please help. Thanks,

Hey Cristian,

Kindly update X to the latest version because you’re using the latest version of Cornerstone. The latest Cornerstone is not compatible with the old X version.

Since you’re in a multisite setup, you need to update manually using the FTP method here: https://theme.co/docs/how-to-update#how-to-perform-a-manual-update

Let us know if the issue still persists once that’s done.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

We completed the update as recommended, but the slider issue remains. Please let us know if any cache is to be cleared or any other changes to be made to make the slider issue resolved. Reiterating the issues for reference:

Hello Cristian,

I have investigated your site and it seems that the Cornerstone styling.css has been modified. It is loading this file:
https://example.com/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/assets/css/site/style.6f62d0f.css?ver=-b-modified-1663695753

Please deactivate any plugin that modifies any site resources and test the site again.

Kindly let us know how it goes.
