Hello Marty,
Thanks for writing to us.
Please note it is the default layout of the Ethos stack for the portfolio details page, in case you want to customize it, I would suggest you use the feature of the Pro theme where you can use the Layout Builder to create a custom design for the Portfolio single page.
Please have a look at the documentation of the layout builder.
Hope it helps
Thanks
I tried building a custom layout and applying the condition to specific categories and things did not go well.
Please help me understand… at https://www.martinrayvaughan.com/portfolio-item/lexington/ why is the first image and text centered and looking nice and then the following images are scrunched over to the left?
Thanks,
Marty
Hello Marty,
The first image, the big one, is the featured image. In Ethos portfolio item, the left side displays the featured image while the right side will display the portfolio item description. Check out the demo here:
In your portfolio items, you have inserted other images within the portfolio description and this is why, those smaller images display below the text. You can edit your portfolio item and in the Portfolio Item Settings, select “Gallery” as the media type so that the left side will display a gallery of images. Perhaps this documentation can help you:
Kindly let us know how it goes.
I changed the media type to GALLERY but this did not change the layout issue… see link. Thanks for any advice!
Hi Marty,
I have tried to replicate it in my local environment but was unable to do so. I would request you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:
– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.
Thanks
@ruenel still having issues. Tried another portfolio page at https://www.martinrayvaughan.com/portfolio-item/equine/
I think the problem is that I’m trying to add multiple images to a single portfolio post…when I look at https://demo.theme.co/ethos-magazine/portfolio/ you all are suggesting one image per post.
Also, where do I select FULL WIDTH PAGE for the portfolio like your Ethos example? Mine is showing a sidebar.
Hello Marty,
I checked your setting it seems that you have not set the gallery setting for the portfolio items. I have set up on post there at your server which is in draft mode please have a look at it. You can set it up by yourself, please have a look at this video.
The given demo URL is a portfolio archive page and it is not a single portfolio page. In case you want your archive page needs to be full width you need to create a page and then set the page template as Layout - Portfolio.
Hope it helps
Thanks
@prakash_s thank you for helping here…
I am closer to understanding - but still unsure about a few things.
First, I am using https://www.martinrayvaughan.com/portfolio/ as my Portfolio Archive page - and it looks great!
Second, you’ll see two portfolio items listed there: Kentucky Bride and TEST. These are portfolio ITEMS, right? Or another way I would look at it as portfolio posts? I followed the video you supplied in this thread and ‘Attached’ some media to Test Gallery (images I attached a listed below), but I still don’t see them.
I attached:
Please let me know your thoughts.
Hello Marty,
The portfolio is a custom post type where you have added 2 posts or portfolio items in that custom post type.
Yes, I can see that you have attached the image in the Test Gallery posts, you see those images on the posts details page or you can say single post page. Those images are rendered in the sider on the post details page. Please have a look at the given screenshot in the secure note.
In case you want the detach the image from the post you need to go to the WordPress Dashboard —>Media —>Look for the image that you want to detach and click on the Detach button.
Hope it helps
Thanks
Hello Marty,
By withdrawing the post, I believe you already have resolved the issue. If the issue still existed, you can let us know.
