Clarification on Licensing Policy and Support for PRO Unlimited

Hello Themeco Support,

I purchased PRO Unlimited a year ago with the intention to develop and sell websites to my clients, under the understanding that it included unlimited licenses that I could use and sell as part of the website package to my clients. I’ve recently noticed some changes in your support policies and would like to clarify a few points:

  1. Have there been any unilateral alterations to the support provided for PRO Unlimited since my purchase?
  2. If I sell websites developed using PRO, can my clients directly contact you for support, or are they required to come to me for any support-related queries? (they will prefer the second option, obviously).

Before purchase I’ve read this post:

"If you buy the Pro Unlimited Lifetime, you will have a lifetime access to the forum support "
That’s why I bought the Pro Unlimited lifetime.

I understand the essence of a Lifetime license to mean that over time, there are practically no issues requiring support. The difficulties usually occur in the first year, but everything becomes clear afterward. Your product is really awesome and brings only positive emotions, thank you for it!

Support is included for 12 months from time of purchase, and your support period has expired. We updated our support terms back in 2020 and extended support for an additional two years from that time. If you’d like to learn more, you can read more about the changes here.

You will continue to receive updates, and you will be able to view the forums and all online documentation. These changes only have to do with getting direct support in the forums.

You can extend support for 6 months or 12 months or subscribe to our One service. This will not only help you with product questions but also 3rd party plugin support and even customizations and custom code! This is a great service for those needing help with questions that may go outside the scope of normal support, and you’ll have the added benefit of being able to manage all communications with our team via email and a special button that will show in your account. You can see all of your history in one place.

I appreciate your response and clarification on the support policy changes. I understand the modifications regarding the support duration and the options available post the expiration of the initial support period.

However, I would like to seek further clarification on the licensing aspect, specifically regarding the resale of websites developed using PRO Unlimited. When I purchased PRO Unlimited, my understanding was that it included unlimited licenses that I could use and also transfer to my clients when I sell websites to them.

Could you please confirm whether there have been any changes or restrictions imposed on reselling websites developed with PRO Unlimited and transferring the licenses to clients? I would like to ensure that my clients face no issues in the future due to licensing constraints when they purchase websites from me.

The Pro Unlimited allows you to use Pro on an unlimited number of domains. This is ideal for if you have multiple sites, or when you build sites for clients. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that Pro Unlimited licenses cannot be transferred. If you build sites for others but retain the license in your account, then this option is great for you, but if you need to transfer the license to your client at some point, you’ll need to purchase a single-use license instead.
