Using Cornerstone Elements For Adding additional Features To A WooCommerce Product Page

Hi there

We use WooCommerce with Theme X.

My colleagues have created a regular WordPress post to serve as a landing page for one of our products. This landing page is for a product that is Quote only and it will use Gravity forms to allow interested customers to submit a quote. There are no prices or SKUs and we do not manage the inventory for this product.

My colleagues used a regular Wordpress post because the WooCommerce single product template we use does not allow the use of Cornerstone and its associated elements in the top section of the page. For example, my colleagues have built a slider to provide a visual representation of the product. The slider appears near the top of the page just under some introductory text.

One question we had was, its there a way to use Cornerstone and its elements in the top part of a WooCommerce product page?

As I understand it Cornerstone and its elements are designed to work only with the description section of the product as mentioned in this help doc. https://theme.co/docs/woocommerce#how-to-use-woocommerce-in-cornerstone

Would creating an additional WooCommerce product template be an option? For example, we create the alternative Woocommerce product template which contains the additional features we want at the top of the page and then setup this for product in Woocommerce using the new template.

I did search the forum and help docs. and didn’t not find a definitive answer concerning this.

Thanks
Tim

Hello Tim,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to use Cornerstone to edit only a specific part of the page. You may need to upgrade to Pro and create a WooCommerce Single Layout. Please check the links below:

https://theme.co/docs/layout-builder-overview
https://theme.co/docs/single-templates

When building a custom WooCommerce Single Layout, you’ll also need access to product data using dynamic content:

Hi @Ismael - Thanks! I did see some other posts which seemed to be pointing in that direction. Thanks for the additional context. We’ll take a look at Pro.

Thanks
Tim

Glad we could be of help! Feel free to open another thread if you have more questions. Have a nice day.
