Updating Pro adds and modifies existing content in Buddypress

Hello everyone.

The topic I’m bringing up relates to another one I had posted about months ago. You can find the original topic below. This issue has been ongoing for a while and I’m only now taken more action to address it. The issue has not changed from the previous topics but this time, I would like to provide additional details.

On a site I’m working on, I updated Pro from 4.3.3 to the most latest version, 5.1.5. The issue relates to changes made to the following pages:

/profile/edit/group/1/
/profile/edit/group/3/

These are basically the Buddypress profile pages that users can navigate to, to make changes to their profiles. The issue is, when I updated Pro, it caused many changes to those profile page, some were additions and some were omissions. To illustrate this, I did a comparison using diffchecker and I have linked it to the private content area.

On diffchecker, the content on the LEFT for one of the page I’m comparing is from version 4.3.3 and the content on the RIGHT is from version 5.1.5.

Few obvious examples of this are the following:

  • Two h2 elements for “About”
  • Two submit buttons
  • Two sets of links for the different field groups, “About” and “Preferences”

I have included a couple of screenshots below showing this.

The styles on those pages is control by a plugin known as Youzify and its Youzify’s template that is being used on those page. Youzify and Buddypress were not updated. Only Pro theme was updated.

So the question is, why does updating Pro theme add/remove some content from the page. Is this an incompatibility with Youzify?

Thank you!

Hey @kgpthemex,

Regretfully, we cannot provide support for the conflict with Youzify but you can tell us issues with BuddyPress. Please first deactivate Youzify and detail what changed in BuddyPress after you updated Pro. Our findings might help our development team and they might release fixes. Just note that we cannot guarantee a fix.

Also, it would be best that you copy your site over to a staging server so we could do some test on the actual content and website setup.

Thanks.
