Stickiness options for side header

Long time X user. Loving the Pro product. I’m trying to build a site with a max total width of 1280px, that includes a sticky side header with navigation. I’ve got it mostly working but I’d like the side header to stop sticking to the left side once the browser window goes past 1280px. Currently, the header stays on the left no matter how big the browser window gets.

My site is https://sc8tty.com

An example of the side header I want is https://www.hex.inc.

Please help. Thank you.

Hello @sc8tty,

Thanks for writing to us.

I checked your given example site URL it seems that there is a left sidebar header which is rendring for the larger screen. If you check the under the 767px browser width there is no sidebar menu. It seems that you are using the Pro custom header where you can hide the sidebar header bar using the breakpoints use the top header placement and insert the header bar for the small screen.

Hope it helps
Thanks

Hi @prakash_s. Yes I’ve already hidden the sidebar on smaller breakpoints. What I’m trying to achieve here is removing the stickiness of the side header (navigation) once the the largest breakpoint has been reached. You can see this behavior on the example URL in browser windows wider than 1440px.

I do not want any header displayed on the smaller breakpoints.

I’m attaching some images to help illustrate. The first one is how the site currently looks with a 1920px window, and the second is a mockup of what I would like to see.

Hey guys, hoping I can get some help resolving this one soon. Thanks. @prakash_s @ruenel @tristup

Hello @sc8tty,

Based on the example URL, the Fixed Left custom header is not what you need. You will have to create a custom layout with a sidebar and content area. Utilize the Layout Builder since you are using the Pro theme. With the latest release, you can use the DIV element in your sidebar area and position it as “Sticky”.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, @ruenel. I will try this and report back. Appreciate the quick reply.

You are most welcome, @sc8tty.
