So Calling Thumbnails via Loopers Works Now?

I had previously inquired this:

https://theme.co/forum/t/featured-image-in-loopers-select-a-size/86170/3

This was a bummer response since this seemed like an easy thing to do and the featured image looper feature is sort of useless without that as most people don’t want the full size image.

I was about to write in and ask if you guys had this on the near term roadmap and then stumbled upon this:

I tested it and it seems to work. So…this is doable now then? Are there plans to implement this without needing the dev console? Also, when you do implement it, can you auto-check if the above ‘hack’ is in place and remove the applicable entries with the proper method? Just a suggestion.

Hello Greg,

Thanks for writing in! You can simply add this dynamic content {{dc:post:featured_image_id size="thumbnail"}} to display the featured image with the thumbnail size. The available image sizes would be full, large, medium, and thumbnail. You can check out this codex for the default image sizes available:

Hope this helps.

Yea - this cannot be done that way with Loopers. Images do not permit you to edit the dynamic content code. You pick “Featured Image” from a menu and you get what you get. The workaround seems to be using the dev console. Do you follow?

Hi Greg,

Are you referring to the Featured Image element?

No, there is no option to select the image size. This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development.

Thanks!

Yes - so what I’m telling you is that there IS a way to do this, one of your support people (prakash_s) showed someone how (see my OP) and I’ve replicated it. It uses the developer console. Knowing this, are you able to answer my original question?

Hello @co50,

With the latest release, you can do the hack. Though, there isn’t an option in the Dynamic Content to select the size of the featured image, at least the size attribute were added unlike in the previous versions that it will only display the full original image.

Best Regards.
