Cornerstone license not verifyed?

So we purchased the X theme back in 2015 and from what I’m reading, we had cornerstone attached free to it. I cannot seem to find the license for that nor am I able to update cornerstone on wordpress or even use the visual composer or slider revolution because of this.
What can I do to activate this?

Thank you

Hi @Signenterprise,

Cornerstone is still free when you have X theme. Once X theme is validated, cornerstone will be installed automatically. Update will be available too. No need for cornerstone license since it comes free with X theme. Same with all other third party extensions, once X theme is validated, you can install and access it from the X > Validation page on wordpress admin.

You only need Cornerstone license if you will use it independently. Let’s say you prefer other theme but want to use Cornerstone as page builder. You need to buy a separate Cornerstone license for that.

Hope this helps.

I apologize for not having seen a reply. I tried to validate the theme with the API code and I get this:

Themeco Apex | Error (404)

It seems as though the page you’re trying to access does not exist or has been moved.

Please click the back button in your browser and try your action again.

Hello @Signenterprise,

API key has long been deprecated. We are now using License code. You will have to update your X theme and Cornerstone manually first. Please check out these documentation:

If nothing is helping, provide us access to your site so that we can check your settings. Please create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: https://theme.co/docs/getting-support

Regards.

Hello @Signenterprise,

Regretfully the given credentials is not working for us. It seems that the username is incorrect.

Please double check it.

Sorry, I was still in the add users menu.

It seems this website is excluding characters from the password. I’ll make something simple.

Hello @Signenterprise,

We cannot do much with the given credentials because it has a very limited privileges. Could you please make it as an Administrator so that we can navigation to the X > Validation or Cornerstone > Validation section?

Thanks.

Wow, I missed that completely. It’s an admin now. Sorry about that.

Hello @Signenterprise,

I was able to check out your settings. Actually, your Cornerstone has been validated. The problem is that you are using an older version of the theme that is still using API Key which has been deprecated. Could you please update to the latest versions manually?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 7.2.3
  • Cornerstone 4.2.3
  • WordPress core 5.3.2

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

To learn to update the theme manually, please check out this guide here:

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you. I’ll likely retry it tuesday and let you know.

Wordpress doesn’t need to be downgraded from 5.4 right?

Hey @Signenterprise,

We discovered a few bugs using WordPress 5.4 so it’s best to downgrade moreover that officially, we do not support it yet. We list our compatibility with WordPress in our Version Compatibility page.

Hope that helps.
