We have 4 or 5 sites that were build using X and Cornerstone, the rest we have use Pro/Cornerstone.
While changing copyrights to 2024, we noticed that all our X Theme sites don’t give access to the header and footer to edit. I tested updating one site to Pro and built a header for it, but it doesn’t allow me to replace the X Theme header. Is there anything we can do to regain access to edit the X Theme-built header and footer?

The header and footer are not available in X. It is only exclusively available in Pro. To know the difference between X and Pro, please check this documentation.

The header and footer originally built in X for all of my X Theme sites are not accessible to edit any longer. I’m familair with Pro and prefer it, but some clients had no budget to pay for us to make the upgrade. I’m simply trying to update copyrights and realized the issue. If I have to change a logo or link in a header or footer, I’m stuck. I tried adding Pro and Pro child theme to one to built a new header and there was no way to get rid of the original Xtheme header.

Please keep in mind that when using the X theme, the header, and the footer will be using the default layout. This layout is not editable in the Header/Footer builder even if you upgrade to the Pro theme. If you want to edit or update something in the default header, you should be able to change the contents like the logo or links in Cornerstone > Theme Options > Header or Cornerstone > Theme Options > Footer.
If you intend to redesign the header or footer in the site, you will have to recreate or create a custom header/footer using the builder. Once you have created a custom header and footer, you must assign it to the entire site so that it will replace the default header/footer.
