I’ve tested several video types in my test site and none of them will work “auto-played” in iOS not to mention I used several different themes.
With that said, this is an iOS issue rather than a theme issue. iOS will either not play “auto-play” videos even then are set to muted or iOS requires a really specific video format. Please try m4v and mov video formats too.
If none of the video formats will really work and you have many users using iOS, please consider using an animated GIF as a Poster Image so that the GIF will show on iOS devices. It’s just something you can fallback to.
