Updating X Failed Authentication Asking to Add "purchase code" To Account?

I am running a 4.x version of X on http://ascuesautobody.com/ and I need to the update X theme.

I have created a Staging site (which I’ve added in our Themeco account, the staging site is http://appsforsocialmedia.com/aab/) and I needed to do some workarounds since I got errors and I had to do some issues.

WORKAROUND 1: Permalinks failed so I had to copy pasted the codes from the live site to Staging site.

WORKAROUND 2 (where I ran into a problem): I went from PHP 5.x on the original site to PHP 7.x on the Staging site. I got some a blank screen trying to authenticate, so I deleted X Theme 4.x version on the staging site, downloaded X Theme 7.x from our Themeco account and when I uploaded it and tried to Authenticate I get asked the following:

You are logged in as MediaServices. Would you like to add the purchase code [LICENSE-KEY-IS-SHOWN-HERE] to this account.

My options are:

• Yes, add the license to my account, and validate this site: [STAGING SITE URL]

• No, log me out so I can use or register another account

• Nevermind, take me back to my site

I chose the last. I think I should be able to choose “Yes, add the license to my account, and validate this site: [STAGING SITE URL]” but I’m not sure if that will somehow invalidate he actual live site.

Please advise how I should proceed.

To help you with your concern, please give us the following information in a Secure Note.

• WordPress Login URL of your staging area
• Admin level username and password of your staging area

Hey @MediaServices,

I checked the live site and staging site and they’re working fine. The staging site is validated (see secure note).

What you should do in the live site is to delete Cornerstone first then manually update X since it’s very old. You can learn how to do manual updates here: https://theme.co/docs/how-to-update#how-to-perform-a-manual-update

After that, install Cornerstone in X > Validation then, try validating X once again. See https://theme.co/docs/installation-and-validation
