Update Order

Hello. I have recently been given a website running older versions of WordPress and X-Pro (as below). My question is, would you recommend I update Wordpress first and then X-Pro. OR, should it be the other way around? I am first going to do this on a Staging site, but I am curious if there is a recommended order.

  • WordPress vers 5.8.7
  • X-Pro vers 5.1.5

Hi @mcaravaglia,

Thanks for reaching out.
It is correct to perform the update on Staging server. I would suggest you go through the steps explained in the following thread.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Sorry. I am not clear on your answer. Are you saying to make this manual fix to Cornerstone in my X-Pro vers. 5.1.5 before making any updates? If so, and I make this change, would my next step be to update WordPress to the latest version and then the last step be to update X-Pro to the latest?

Hi @mcaravaglia,

The fixes are already included in the updated version, so you use the latest version. If you wish to use the older version you need to add those fixes into that.

Thanks

My intent is to update both WordPress and X-Pro to the latest versions. In my original post, I am only asking if it there is a best-method as to which I should update first; WordPress, or X-Pro; Or, does it not matter?

Hi @mcaravaglia,

There is no matter, but I would suggest you update the Pro first and then WordPress. The Pro version you are using having an issue with the WordPress latest version, which has been fixed in the latest version of Pro.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Thank you.
