I’ve seen posts in here on the subject but my version, which is the latest doesn’t seem to have this setting anywhere.

Thanks for posting in! The Fade Effect that you are looking for can only be found in the classic column elements.
Simply go to the Preferences > Content Layout Element and select “Classic Row” to be able to insert the classic elements that have the Fade Effect feature.
If you prefer to use the new elements, then you should use the new Effects module instead.

Thank you! Got it. But to confirm, the new effects module does not include a FADE effect, right?
Howdy, @webraven! Thanks for writing in and sorry for the confusion here…I believe that @ruenel thought you were referring specifically to our old “Fade Effect” feature on Classic Columns. If you were, his instructions are indeed correct on where to find it, but the current (and recommended) way to do this is to utilize the Effects Module, which is found on every Element as he also mentioned. Just to make sure if you have not done so already, definitely make sure to read through our documentation on this feature as it is quite extensive and outlines everything in great detail, which @ruenel also linked above:
Additionally, the video he linked above is very in-depth on this very feature, which I think you will find particularly helpful:
Around 17:36 in that video I begin discussing the Scroll Effects portion of this module, which is where you would setup any type of scrolling / fade-in interaction (amongst others) that you want. Definitely watch that video as it should answer all of your questions and show you how to implement this on your site.
