Hi
I have looked and looked and cannot find where to change the background of the widget. I have looked through all of the header, container, and row options where the widget is contained. Nothing will alter the size of the text, the faint box around the widget, the background of the widget, or the overall size of the widget. Can you please advise where I can change this. The website is www.found.rest and I’m after a transparent background.

You can see the language widget and the background indictor for the widget. The background is showing as transparent yet it is obviously not. I can also not change the font size.

I would suggest you please add this custom CSS code to the element CSS. Please have a look at the given screenshot below.

}
Please feel free to change the background color code, font size, and color. The purpose of providing custom CSS is to show you how to add CSS code to your site. Writing custom CSS is outside the scope of our theme support. If you need more customization, you need to learn CSS and learn how to use the browser’s element inspector.In case if you have no idea about coding, you can subscribe to One, where customization questions are answered.

Thanks for your reply. I’m prepared to add the code at a last resort but respectfully, code is a bandaid over a software problem. In the past I have been able to change the background colour and change the font size. For reasons beyond my understanding this has now stopped working. I would rather correct the core problem than to put a sticker over it. The answer I’m look for is why is the functionality that is in the software not working?

Hello Craig,
The Widget Area element settings will only affect on the Widget Area container. The widget header maybe included. It will not be applied to the specific widget that you assigned like the Select or Dropdown. This is also the reason why @Prakash_s suggested the custom CSS.
The language dropdown has “English” and “Espanol”. Both of them will get styling from the Select element which is with the built in Icon stack style.css

Thanks again for your reply. Im still not understanding why I was able to adjust the size and transparency previously (a few days ago). The only possible explanations are that in the past few days you have updated the software removing this feature OR there is a problem with the software that I am not able to identify?
To reconfirm, a few days previous the background area of the widget that is visible on the header was transparent - meaning that I could see the timber background - and I could change the colour of the font - and I could change the size of the font. Now I can do none of these tasks. I have no idea what I have done - but I know that it is not behaving as it should. I’m hoping you can let me know why the software is not doing what it should - again the website is www.found.rest. Thanks in advance.

I merely demonstrated that the Widget Area element settings may affect some elements of the widget and do not include the Select or Dropdown, which is in your Language Switcher widget.

Thanks. But we still seem to be missing the issue. As things stand right now, when I view the header without selecting or hovering over the widget, the background is white, the text black, and the font size seemingly unchangeable. This is not how it was functioning a few days ago. At the beginning of this week (or thereabouts) the font was larger, it was a different colour, and the white box was not white but transparent. With the greatest respect to testing, that doesnt seem to be identifying the fact that what was possible is currently not. I don’t know why its doing this so I’m reaching out to the experts - you people. Again either there has been an update in the past few days that removes the functionality that I had previously or there is an issue. Are you able to identify the issue?
