Template import issue

I’m getting the “Sorry! Your file is not properly formatted” error when trying to upload templates.

Steps:

  1. Site 1a - Pro > Templates
  2. Check box template A and click download template which is a zip file
  3. Site 1b - Pro > Templates
  4. Drag zip file to “Choose a template or drag it here to import” box

Also tried unzipping the file and dragging the 2 .tco-tmpl files that are created.

Please help

Hello Anthony,

Thanks for providing the information. I have logged in and exported the template. I imported it to the staging site and I cannot replicate any issues at all. Please go to X > Templates and check out the imported templates.

Best Regards.

@ruenel

Hi thanks for that. So strange. I just tried and I’m still getting the same error.

Out of interest, I couldn’t import any elementor templates either.

What could it be?

Hello Anthony,

Please try the suggestions from this link:

If the issue persists, it would be best to get in touch with your hosting provider and mention to them about this issue as there might be something in your server settings that is blocking file imports.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the help.

So after seeing you guys got it working, I tried on my brothers device and it worked. Seeing that the file downloaded as a zip on my device but a .tco on his, I thought it might be a cache issue. But clearing cache didn’t fix it.

In the end, what fixed it for me was logging out of wordpress and logging back in. Strange.

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for getting back with us and letting us know.

Perhaps it was some session issue that got cleared when you logged out your account.

Glad to hear it’s sorted.

Sorry correction. It happened again, so I tried clearing cache and logging out and back in but no good.

The problem was a chrome extension - Free Download Manager. Disabling it did the trick.

Hi Anthony,

That was interesting! Thank you for sharing this with us and other customers that might use that Chrome extension.
