Staging site for development

Hi guys
I have set up a subdomain of a site for development. The existing site has an X single-use license. I want to carry out a redesign using Pro. On completion, we want to update the site. I have updated the staging site URL. Do I now validate this site on the subdomain?

Thank you for reaching out to us. You can validate an additional domain, such as www.staging.johnbarilaro.com.au, under the same license. However, you may not use the license to validate a second unique or materially different website.

To validate your staging or development area, go to your account dashboard and find the license that you wish to add the additional domain to, then click the Add Staging button beneath the primary domain. Then just enter the URL for your staging or development area and save. Then this domain will also be validated.

However if you want to create a staging site for Pro only while you have X license might not be possible because that would require converting your X license to Pro first (see https://theme.co/docs/converting-from-x-to-pro)

Yes that got it, I will start with X see how I go. We will flip the sites with a new look then see if a pro update is warranted.
