Slider Revolution Issue. "not migrated"

Hello @bcollins, @brianjohnsondesign,

Thanks for writing to us.

We’ve released a new theme update that fixes issues with Slider Revolution 7 and our Classic Slider Revolution element. Please update to the latest version, clear the cache, and recheck it.

Thanks

The new version doesn’t seem to have helped. It’s the same problem.

I cleared all caches, including my caching plugin and Revolution Slider (which currently has caching disabled but I cleared it anyway). I tried disabling the plugin and reactivating it, same thing with the theme. I also tried using the parent theme directly, and tried viewing in an incognito window. There is no change.

The editor for Revolution Slider won’t load either.

What’s weird is that I can see the theme updated automatically yesterday. (I’m using simple history to log these things). But today it already said it was on 6.8.3, which wasn’t released until today. There are no records of the theme being updated again.

I found this odd, so I manually downloaded 6.8.3 and replaced what was there.

No change. It’s still not loading.

Let me know if you want me to start my own forum thread.

I have 10.8.3 X and Slider not working anywhere. Is there a most recent update? If so it isn’t giving it to us. X not Pro.
Edit: restored backups on all sites from March 11. Will wait for confirmation this has been fixed.

  • I made the updates as you mentioned
  • I cleared the cache
  • still not working
  • disabled the plugin
  • re-enabled the slider revoultion plugin
  • still not working…
I probably have 40+ that are using this plugin - can you pelase help? example: https://www.hopeforhealthusa.com/

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP?

Have many websites as well. Can you install a backup?

I’ve spent too much time on this already so here’s my working solution so hopefully you’ll not waste as much time as I did:

  1. Deactivate and delete the Rev Slider 7 plugin
  2. Your Modules (slideshows) are in your database so they won’t be deleted.
  3. Download Rev Slider 6 from here (this is my site): https://chadaustin.com/rev-slider-ver-6/revslider.zip
  4. Install and Activate Rev Slider 6
  5. Assuming you didn’t remove any of the short code calls to your Modules, your sliders will reappear.

Wait before updating anything until ThemeCo gets the RevSlider authors to get their plugin fixed. They are on it.

You’re a legend!

They keep telling us to downgrade to an older version but like… How? It’s not publicly listed.

I just followed your instructions and installed the old version and everything came back up right away.

Hopefully they’ll have a legitimate update that actually works soon.

Hello Guys,

Follow the steps laid out by @ChadAustin here: Slider Revolution Issue. "not migrated"

Once you have installed the SR6 version, load your slider in the SR Editor and hit the save button. This would update your slider data, preformatted and ready for the SR7 update. Once you have updated to the SR7 version, the “Not Migrated” should be gone next to your slider.

Hope this helps.

Guys are you saying that I have to do this for 40+ websites…I have a lot of websites that I’m using this plugin for…will there be a updated fix for this soon, so I don’t have to do this 40+ times? Ok, please let me know and thanks so much in advance for your help…

Hey @bcollins,

Regretfully, that is the case with the new Slider Revolution system.

On our end, a fix is underway to display the SR7 converted sliders.

I have already reverted to a previous version of revslider to get the sliders to display again.

Are you suggesting that I need to go into edit every slider and save before then updating the plugin again?

If so is there another option to wait for you to fix something so we don’t have to do this or is this the only way forward?

Like some of the other developers here I have several sites with several sliders so this will take a while to do and I wouldn’t mind waiting a month or so if you are working on a fix that means we don’t need to do this.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey Tamsin,

Regretfully, yes. This is strongly recommended by ThemePunch, the author of Slider Revolution, and eventually, they will drop support for SR6 system.

We don’t have a fix on our end except upgrading our shortcodes to work with SR7 system.

Thank you for understanding.

I don’t understand the fix ‘upgrading our shortcodes to work with SR7 system’ - presumably this doesn’t negate the need to open and save every slider?

Hey @pyntolimited,

Yes, correct. You still need to migrate your sliders. Or, the other solution is you don’t update to the latest Slider Revolution (not recommended). You can opt to stay with version 6.

Please note that we are not the author of Slider Revolution. System upgrades including breaking changes are beyond our control.

I have done this on one of my sites now. At first I tried with the last version I had installed and it didn’t work, then I used the version linked above https://chadaustin.com/rev-slider-ver-6/revslider.zip and saved them all and updated, and this did work.

How do I “opt out” of version 7…I don’t see this option…thanks.

Followed @ChadAustin method above and it worked. Thank you.
Sadly have to do that to all sites. Hoping for a fix soon.

Legend indeed. Thank you!

Regretfully, this requires custom development or third-party plugin solutions. We can look in to this in our One service.

@ChadAustin you absolute lifesaver! :grin:
