Slider Revolution Migration Isn't Working

Hi, I’ve updated Slider Revolution to the latest version 7.1.6 and the 6 slides that were in there are just stuck on ‘Migrating’. The thumbnails for them are all blank.

I have no idea how to get them to migrate! I hope you can help!

Under their current policy, Revolution Slider for both the Pro and X themes is limited to a maximum of three modules. As this plugin is bundled with our theme, our developers are in contact with the Revolution Slider team to explore a resolution. Please note that the plugin’s codebase is outside of our control. Unfortunately, at this time, there isn’t a fix available for this limitation. Alternatively, you can purchase a separate license directly from the slider author, which may help resolve the issue.

After updating Revolution Slider, I went to check the slides in there and a pop up came up saying:

We’ve introduced a 3-module limit for free accounts.
Since you already have 6 modules, all of them will continue to work normally.

I took a screenshot from a different website I’ve just updated Revolution Slider on which has 7 sliders:

All 7 sliders migrated over for that website, however the slider on the Home page now doesn’t keep looping round as it should do. It just stops when it’s gone through the 3 slides within it. It seems as though the settings aren’t migrating over properly.

For the site I gave you the details for, 3 sliders have migrated and 3 are stuck on migrating, whereas they all should have migrated over. Do you know what the issue is?

I checked your site, and it appears that only three Slider Revolution modules are available with the bundled plugin. The remaining modules have either not migrated successfully or are stuck during the migration process because of the three-module limit. Since the migration process and module limit are managed by the Slider Revolution plugin, its codebase is outside our control. We have already contacted the Slider Revolution team regarding this limitation. Unfortunately, there is currently no available fix. Alternatively, you may purchase a separate license directly from the Slider Revolution author, which may help resolve the issue.

With regards to one of the slides now not looping round as it should do. It just stops when it’s gone through the 3 slides within it. How do I correct this? Also, there’s issues with transitions and timings between each slide. How do I correct those too?

Should all of the settings have come across correctly when the sliders migrated or is this another issue that needs to be addressed with Slider Revolution?

For now should I leave the rest of my sites on the version of Slider Revolution they’re currently at - within version 6 - and wait til you announce a fixed version?

Hello @core365,

Yes, looping, transitions, and timings are intended to migrate automatically, so what you are seeing is not expected behaviour — and yes, please hold off on updating your remaining sites for now.

Troubleshooting

1. Update the required Add-ons – In the Slider Revolution dashboard, locate the panel listing Add-ons that need updating and click Fix All Addons. Missing or outdated Add-ons are the most common cause of both symptoms you have described: modules stuck on “Migrating,” and migrated modules losing settings such as looping and timings. Please note Add-ons are a Premium feature of the plugin, so a licence from the plugin author may be required to install them.
2. Retry migration – Reload the dashboard to let automatic migration run again, then retry any remaining modules one by one. Afterwards, please re-check the seven-slider site and confirm whether the settings have been restored.
3. Hold your other sites – On any site still running Slider Revolution 6, update to 6.7.50 first, as the plugin author specifies this as the required preparation step before moving to 7.x. Please take a full backup in every case, as the author states that “Upgrading to SR7 is not easily reversible.”
