Sitemap not being generated due to conflict with Cornerstone

This is similar to this issue from a few days ago which your team seems to have dismissed as a non issue.

Similar to the issue posted above, I have a page sitemap (https://www.dreamystays.com/page-sitemap.xml) that is not being generated due to a conflict with Cornerstone.

This is unacceptable as it keeps my pages from being indexed by Google.

I have Cornerstone version 6.1.2 installed
My webhost, BigScoots, investigated and found this problem with Cornerstone:

Its a bug with this plugin: Cornerstone – Its hitting max PHP memory.

It causes an endless loop it seems until the process hits max memory, if you deactivate that plugin then the sitemap loads fine.

however again, If i deactivate it then the sitemap loads. This would need to be reported to their developer’s.

If none of those work, It would be best if you could copy your live website to your staging area. and send your details in a secure note so that we can investigate your setting without breaking your live site. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • FTP Details

I cannot upgrade to the latest version of Cornerstone. I get this error:

Hello @vmatt21,

It seems that you are using the older version of the theme, I would suggest you few steps to update the theme.

  1. Deactivate the Cornerstone page builder plugin
  2. Update the X theme
  3. Update the Cornerstone
  4. Now Activate the Cornerstone plugin.

I was able to succesfully update Theme X.

Cornerstone update fails:

Hello @vmatt21,

Please go to your Plugins section. Find the Cornerstone plugin and deactivate it. You also need to totally delete the plugin. Afterwards, go to X > Validation and wait for a few moments while the bundled Cornerstone plugin is installed in the background. You should be seeing a confirmation once it is ready to be activated.

If this is not working, kindly provide us access to your site so that we can investigate. You can create a secure note in your next reply with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WP login URL
– WP username
– WP password
– WP Administrator Role
- Confirmation that we can access and make changes to your site

Hey @vmatt21,

If that is the case, please go to your Hosting Cpanel and log in to the File Manager. If you have FTP access, log in to your FTP and browse to the plugins folder. You will have to manually delete the cornerstone folder using the FTP.

Once it is deleted, go back to your WordPress Dashboard > X > Validation so that the bundled Cornerstone plugin will be installed.
