Shortcodes are showing on frontend of some pages

Hi, guys.

After updating some plugins of my company’s website (including the newest version of WordPress and changed PHP version from 5 to 7.4), some pages are now showing the shortcodes to the viewer. See the image attached:

I have the X theme installed on this site.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @cabralc,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked your website and found that you are using the older version of X i.e. 7.2.3 whereas updated the Cornerstone version to its latest 6.0.8.

The issue you are having might be due to the incompatibility between X and Cornerstone. I would suggest you follow the below steps while updating the X theme and the Cornerstone.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

Please clear all type cache including the Style Cache from Cornerstone > Settings > System > Clear Style Cache and check in the incognito/private mode of the browser.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Thanks for answering.

But how can I update X from the Dashboard? There’s no button whatsoever:

Am I losing something?

Hi @cabralc,

To update the X theme to the latest version, you can go to the update page. From there, you can update the X theme.

Hope that helps.

Everything is working now, thanks! The update link was hidden inside the Dashboard tab. My bad!

By the way… There’s a notification on my Themeco dashboard asking to update from X to Pro. Is there any risk of breaking the current site if I do it?

Thanks!

Hi @cabralc,

Glad that everything works now. There is no risk in updating X to Pro, I would suggest you go through the following article.

Hope it helps.
Thanks
