RE: Preview was unresponsive after loading - Sometimes loads sometimes doesn’t

Following up on this topic (topic was closed so I had to create a new one):

I have no plugin issues (tested for conflicts and all okay)
All plugins and Theme are up to date
I’m not using any Cache plugin
Cloudflare cache is set to “development mode” and I’ve also purged the cache
Cache on hosting server is disabled and purged
PHP is updated to the latest version
PHP memory limit is increased to 512 MB as recommended
Hosting is done on a dedicated (VPS) server

I’m still having issues with editing my website’s home page. All other pages load okay and are editable. But the home page loads okay in preview, but when I click edit, it doesn’t load and gives me error “preview was unresponsive…”

The odd thing is that the edit page for home page sometimes loads only if I first go through Theme Options and try to edit it from there. But that only sometimes works.

Hello Ari,

Thank you for replying. I’ve added the site link and admin credentials in the secure note.

One thing to note is that it is only the home page that has trouble loading cornerstone. Preview loads okay, but editing it gives trouble.

I’ve also noticed that having a really good internet connection and/or better computer helps, but even with that, editing the home page with Cornerstone sometimes loads and sometimes it doesn’t. So there is definitely a lot of resources being used when trying to edit the home page with Cornerstone.

Hey Ari,

I have investigated the issue and Slider Revolution is causing the issue. This is because of the plugin settings. I went ahead and turned on the “Include Libraries Globally” option via Slider Revolution > Global Settings

_ slider-revolution-globals

Please check your site now.

Hi,

Thank you for the update. It seems to be working okay now. It sometimes doesn’t load, which forces me close Cornerstone and open it up again and retry for it to work.

Hey An,

It should work correctly now because the issue was the Revolution Slider plugin’s settings however if you face this problem again, feel free to create a new thread.

Cheers!
