Personify Mogul Blog Post Template

To remove all ambiguity, I just want to hit the “+” on the content element, and then see my custom Personify: Box Page in this drop down, and add it to a page.

I understand that I can make this “Terms & Conditions” page a template and use that for new website pages, but as I said, I won’t have the ability to make a global change on my customized Personify: Box Page component and have that propagate to every page on the website.

It would be helpful if you use the login info and create the Personify: Box Page component so I can see how that is done.

Hello @mlbass,

If you want to create your own component, use the Component Builder. This is where you make the component to be able to use that newly created component anywhere on the site. Kindly check out the link URL in the secure note below.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. Is there a simple tutorial video showing how you created this component?

Sorry. I created a new page, added Personify: My Box to it, but it is not editable. What did I do wrong?

Hello @mlbass,

Thank you for the update.

If you want to re-add the element to any page and edit it directly on the page, you can save it as a template instead. We saved the element as a template named Personify: Custom Temp 1:

To create a template, simply right-click any element, then go to Manage > Save Template, as shown in the screenshot below.

Let us know if you need more info.

Warm regards.

Thanks. I think I’ve got it. I might trip and fall again. Appreciate your patience.

No worries. Let us know if you have more questions.

Actually, how do I make duplicates of personify:heading so I can do one for H2, H3 and H4? I want to be able to globally change each one for the entire site. I understand the template, but if I use it on dozens of page, and want to change spacing or size (fr example) I want to do that once (i understand how using the site colors and fonts by name I can change those globally)

Thank you for the update.

You will need to create a component from the current Heading elements and replace them with the created components before saving the whole section as a template. You may also need to create a custom parameter for the component so you can configure an instance of the component separately, such as adjusting the content or text.

Please check this documentation for more info about custom parameters: https://theme.co/docs/parameters

Warm regards.

I created Heading 3 as a component

I verified it appears in the Cornerstone dropdown

But I do not see it in the add element dropdown so I can add it to a page

I’ll look at the parameter documentation after I solve this.

But I do not see it in the add element dropdown so I can add it to a page

You have to use the Component element and select the new Heading 3 component. Please review the component documentation for more info: https://theme.co/docs/component-builder-overview

Will do. Thanks.

Hey @mlbass,

You’re most welcome!

Almost there. I notice that I would have to put components in their own column, row or section to access this. Is that correct or did I forget to do something?

Hello @mlbass,

No, you do not need to put the components in their own columns or other elements. They are just containers. If you are referring to the “Customize” tab, all elements has its “Customize” tab.

If you need to insert a unique ID value for your component, will have to set it up in your Component parameter and connect it to the “Customize” tab like:

Hope this helps.

I don’t see it. I also see my components have a different icon than the Personify: Buttonimage
But neither the Mogul or my component has it

Thank you for the update.

Since you’re now editing a component, you’ll have to follow @ruenel’s suggestion about creating a dedicated component parameter for the ID field. Please review his answer: Personify Mogul Blog Post Template

While I work through this, I have one last “big” issue to solve for this website: I created a new ticket because I think it helps the Forum instead of getting buried here. Personify - Podcast Template needs to use the Live RSS Feed

Hey @mlbass,

I have responded to the thread already.

Cheers.
