Nothing to here (My Issue)

Hello

I’m aware that this is a duplicate post name but I’m having the same issue. I have tried searching for a fix but I have not had any luck. It appears that support always has to go in and look at the code. I believe it is through PHP.I’m not sure if it is a slug issue or not. I have been trying to fix this for a couple of days.

I also have another question. This home page was originally named Blow and I changed to the Review. I want to be able to to add content to the Head section of the page where the logo is located and also using some short code for the Rich Review where I want to place some text as well as a button and based on my research this can only be done by creating a child them I not sure how to go about this. I also want this to be single page with no navigation menu. Can you please help me.

Hi Pamela,

Thanks for writing to us.

Your first query is not clear to us, are you having any issues with a slug to set using permalinks.
If so this article will help you.
You can also check with Testing for Plugin Conflict

On the other part, you can add the specific section/content in the header as you are using the X theme.
To add customizable header you need to upgrade your theme to Pro, which have the Header & Footer, builder.
Header & Footer builder will let you customize the header as per your need.

Here’s the link https://theme.co/docs/converting-from-x-to-pro, which helps you to upgrade.

Still, if you need to customize it your own, you can go through this article : https://theme.co/docs/best-practices

Hope it helps.

Thanks

Hello:

Thank you for your reply. Let me clarify what I’m asking.

My first question was how would I remove Nothing to show here. I have searched other articles in the forum but it was not a solution for me. I would like to resolve this one issue first.

My second question was how could I add content to header where the logo reside. I need to add not only content but some short codes as well. I would like this resolved before I even go into third issues as I may be able to find this solution on a google search. I chose this particular layout based on a video I found on YouTube which had a section widget. Now with x Theme default the blog has a side bar which goes into the main widgets. which I was able to move from right to left so the layout looks some way the I wanted. So I’m thinking I need someway to create a widget for a section have have the ability to add it to the header logo. Is this possible.
I’m working free lance on this customer site and have two other domains waiting that I have to develop that I have suggested to clients to add a review page.

I hope my explanation is clearer.

Hello:

I found the culprit for the issues I’m having There is nothing to show. When I go to post in the dashboard there is a default post that has not been accepted. When I look at the preview the default post appears with the new Title Hello Word and the text that goes with the default post and the There is nothing to show goes away. So how do I get rid of post or post choice in dashboard so that is does not appear in my blog. I don’t want any post. I tried
.p-meta { display: none; } but this does not work

Thanks In Advance

Hello:

In case I was not clear about the Header where the logo resides, what I’m trying to do is add some text and a button next to the logo. I have the short code for the button but I’m having trouble placing it where I want it to be along with the text (content). The things I have tried so far from a front end developer perspective is not working. There is no widget for Header like there is for heading 1 , heading 2 etc…

Thanks In Advance.

Hello:

I didn’t think I should start a new post because although I did get somethings figured out which may aide support in getting my issue resolved.

Here is a revamp:

  1. There is nothing to show
This is because there is a default post that has not been applied.
The resolution for me would be to get rid of the post completely as well as the comment which the reverence appears in the dash board.

  2. After much research I have found out that the header widgets 1 thru 4 are shown by clicking on the x button at the top of my page. I would like this to be collapsed without me clicking on the button and appear next to the logo. Based on a response to a question I found on the forum this jQuery (JavaScript) solution was given so that the widget is collapsed jQuery(".x-widgetbar.collapse").addClass(“in”).css(“height”,“auto”);

I tried it and it is not working for me. I go to appearance/customize/customize x theme options.
I then add the code snippet in the JavaScript file.

I have everything working in the header 3 such as the short code for button and the short codes for and rating calculation for my reviews . I just have the above two issues

I am using X Child Theme

For now here is hard link until I add the routing to my angular code

Hi Pamela,

1.) Your homepage right now is the blog index page, and because you don’t have posts, It make sense that it says “Nothing to show right now”. Please navigate to Settings > Reading then on the front page display select A static page, on the dropdown menu select the page that you want to be your homepage (i.e. your review page), after doing that you can then edit that page to the Cornerstone/Content editor.

More details about WordPress Settings > Reading screen.

2.) Regretfully, this is not possible without customization on the X theme, and we can not provide support for customization. For you to able to create and modified the Header, you need to upgrade to PRO theme which has the Header Builder as well as the Footer builder.

Header and Footer Builder Overview

Hope this shed some lights,
Cheers!

Hello Friech:

Thank you for your reply.

  1. Following your suggestion for editing "There is nothing to show. When I go to settings->readings-> then select static my page is not in the drop down list, any ideas as to why and what I can to to correct this. Since my homepage is the Blog index page why is it not showing in the dash board?

I will upgrade to Pro. Once I upgrade I hope it does not jazz up anything I have done so far.
I hope it does not take another 24 hours before I get an answer to this question.

Hey Pamela,

Is the page you want to set as your homepage/frontpage published? Please note that only published pages can be chosen as the frontpage.

If that doesn’t fix the issue, please give us the following information in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Regarding our response time, we strive to answer within 24 hours. I see though that you have bumped your threads or posted thread updates before we reply many times. If you want to add something to the thread, please wait that we respond first because otherwise, your thread will go down the queue because we answer threads from oldest to newest. Bumping will push your thread to the newest.

Thanks.

Hello Pamela,

I have checked your site and I found these:

1.) You do not have any posts which is why there is nothing to display in your blog index.
b0b9WblfTIWBxWp-cGG3LQ

2.) These are your pages and you have assigned Add A Review as your Posts Page:

To resolve your issue, please do the following;

  • Go to Pages and create two new pages. You will have to create “Homepage” and “Blog” as a new page.
  • Go to Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays and assign the “Homepage” as your Home Page and then assign the “Blog” as your Posts Page

  • Now go to Posts > Add New. Create a new sample post so that there will be a post item display in your blog index or Posts Page area.

For best results, kindly check out this codex first:

Hope this makes sense. We would love to know how it goes.
