No automatic update for Cornerstore plugin

Dear support,

My cornerstone plugin doesn’t have an automatic update in the wordpress. I have checked other forum topics and already make sure there is license of X and Pro for my website. How can I solve this problem?

Hey Ken,

It could be because your license for the site is Pro and you’re using X. Please convert your site to Pro. See https://theme.co/docs/converting-from-x-to-pro.

You won’t have to worry about Cornerstone after that as Pro has the Content Builder built-in. You can uninstall Cornerstone once you have Pro.

Hi Christian,

For some technical reasons we initially bought Pro license and then we request your colleague to change it to X. I used X for about 4 years and I am not sure why it has problem to upgrade now.

I don’t mind to change the license to X in your record, could you please see the possibility?

Hello Ken,

You should see Automatic Updates notifications in your dashboard. The Automatic Updates does not mean the theme and Cornerstone will automatically update itself. You still have to perform the updates yourself. This is crucial because you may want to create a backup first or do the updates in your staging site before pushing the latest updates in your main site.

If you are not seeing the updates in your WP dashboard, kindly provide us access to your WP site so that we can investigate further. Please create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WP login URL
– WP username
– WP password
– WP Administrator Role

Here is the login. I know that it needs me to click the update link to update the plugin but it doesn’t exist.

The site is not validated with the License, and that is the reason behind why you are not able to see the Automatic Updates notifications. I would recommend you to validate the license by following the process described in this article: https://theme.co/docs/installation-and-validation#how-to-validate-your-theme

Actually before posting this question I had tried inputted the license code but it said :

’ Your code is valid but looks like it has already been used on another site. You can revoke and re-assign within your Themeco account.’

My account has both X and Pro license and it has assigned to the website. However the above message is still showing. Could you please check what’s happening?

Hi Ken,

There might be a few different reasons for this issue, I would suggest you troubleshoot the common issues related to the Product Validation

  1. Location Issues
  2. Communication Error Messages

It has been also found that the mentioned URL in your Themeco account is http://www.zerofinance.hk whereas your site URL is https://www.zerofinance.hk/, I would recommend you to change the HTTP to HTTPS and try the validation process once.

I have changed the URL starting with https: but still get the same result. I purchased the license from 2017 and the site structure never changed, and every time i could upgrade X / Cornerstone without any problem.

Is there any method to reset the license something like that?

I was able to validate your website. I just deleted the production link in your themeco account and then re-validate your website, luckily it went successfully.

Thanks for checking my case. I can update my X and cornerstone now.

If possible could you please explain a bit more the reason? Just want to prevent the problem happens again.

Hi Ken,

The reason behind this is that before I updated your production URL in your themeco account, the URL inserted is https://www.zerofinance.hk/ but your actual website was inside a subfolder https://www.zerofinance.hk/zh/. So when I remove the production URL in your themeco account and re-validate your website, it is now showing https://www.zerofinance.hk/zh/ in your themeco account.
