I’m using Pro, Integrity stack with Auto site installed.
I cannot figure out how to select or edit the header formatting. I also cannot figure out how to change the pre-header slider.
In my other Pro site I can click on the Header Builder select the header and modify. But when I do on this site there is no header there to edit. If I click + to create a new header, will I then be able to save a copy of the current header before I start? Your help or advice is very appreciated.
Hi @artisticdog,
Thanks for reaching out.
The Auto demo is built using the X and it modifies the default header, so you can’t get any header into the Header Builder for this. The slider in the Home page is created using the Slider Revolution and set to the Above Masthead option in the Slider Setting of the page as shown in the screenshot. So if you want to modify the slider, you can check the Slider Revolution.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Hi Tristup,
Thanks for your reply and patience in answering novice questions. The Slider answer was right under my nose and is now under control.
Regarding the Header. I purchased Pro for future use ability of the Design Assets like Header Builder etc. Is it possible to use any of the Pro Design Assets without ditching the Auto demo?
I like the idea of being able to replace certain elements of the website in the future without having to redesign or change the entire site. This was primarily the reason we are moving away from using Total theme to the Pro theme for this website.
Hi @artisticdog,
Except for the header you can change anything you want in your website to maintain the header like Auto Demo. You can also create the Headers using the Header Builder but it will replace the Auto Demo header if you assign it to the Pages.
Thanks
Hi Tristup,
Hopefully my last questions on this topic. I wish to make sure I won’t permanently break anything before I proceed.
For testing, and without breaking anything in the background, could I duplicate a page as a draft, then use the Header Builder on that page to build a new header or replicate something like the Auto header?
Would other pages on the site continue to operate normally using the unchanged Auto headers?
Could the newly built header be removed and Auto header turned back on if desired?
Could the originally saved copy of the page with Auto header be republished if not happy with testing of Header Builder?
Sorry for all the questions, I’m just wanting to get my head around it so I don’t go down a rabbit hole or get in over my head.
Hello @artisticdog,
Regretfully we do not have a feature that allows you to duplicate the page automatically. You can save the page as a template and then load the saved template to a newly created page instead. Perhaps this documentation can help you:
You can then go to Cornerstone > Header Builder to create your custom header. You can assign this header to the newly created page. Perhaps this video demo can help you:
Best Regards.
Hi Reunel,
Thanks for your video. Unfortunately everything is too small to read or see the items you are clicking. I have been successfully using a plugin called “Yoast Duplicate Post” for a while now. It can clone a page in seconds and save it as a draft very well. So knowing I can duplicate a page very easily, my questions (hopefully clarified a little more) are:
After duplication of say the Homepage and leaving the original version of the page saved as a draft.
- Working on the new copy, can I use the Header Builder or Design Cloud to build or install a new header?
- Will the other pages on the site continue to operate using the original and unchanged Auto header if I the hompage header is changed?
- Can the newly built header be removed or turned off and the original Auto header be turned back on if required?
- Can the saved original & unchanged Homepage with Auto header be republished from saved draft? (The copied page that had been getting worked on would then be unpublished and or deleted)
Hello @artisticdog,
-
Working on the new copy, can I use the Header Builder or Design Cloud to build or install a new header?
-> Yes, you can. Just make sure to assign the new header to the new copy of the page. If you are not familiar with Conditions and Assignments, please check this first:
– Conditions and Assignments | Themeco Docs

Will the other pages on the site continue to operate using the original and unchanged Auto header if I the hompage header is changed?
-> Yes, it will work and use the original header. -
Can the newly built header be removed or turned off and the original Auto header be turned back on if required?
-> Yes, you can. Simply un-assign the header and the original header will be displayed. -
Can the saved original & unchanged Homepage with Auto header be republished from saved draft? (The copied page that had been getting worked on would then be unpublished and or deleted)
-> It can as long as you use our Template Manager. If you use other plugin, it will not work.
Best Regards.
