Hi,

Whis is MEC asking for licence activation?

Modern Events Calendar: Modern Events Calendar Pro is not activated. Pro-only calendar layouts now fall back to a standard layout, and automated calendar syncing has stopped. Bookings still work; new bookings stop on September 7, 2026. [Activate your license]

This was included in the purchase.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand Modern Events Calendar Pro is displaying a “not activated” notice and asking for a purchase code, even though the plugin is included with your Pro purchase. Please review the steps below to resolve this.

  1. No purchase code is required – Modern Events Calendar is bundled with Pro/X under Themeco’s licence, so a separate Webnus purchase code is not issued and the MEC Activate step can be skipped. Updates for the bundled copy are delivered through the Pro/X dashboard rather than from Webnus, so the plugin’s built-in activation notice does not apply to your installation.
  2. Confirm your theme validation – Go to WP Admin > Pro > Validation (or X > Validation) and confirm the site shows as validated. Validation is what unlocks Extensions and automatic updates, including the Modern Events Calendar update channel. Then open WP Admin > Pro > Extensions and confirm Modern Events Calendar is listed there and reports no pending update.
  3. Confirm the installed copy is the Themeco distribution – In WP Admin > Plugins, confirm there is only one Modern Events Calendar entry and that it was installed from Pro > Extensions rather than downloaded directly from Webnus. A copy obtained from Webnus, or a second stale copy alongside the bundled one, will keep requesting activation. If the notice claims features have been restricted, please test one Pro-only layout and one booking on the front end and let us know whether either actually fails, as the bundled copy should remain fully functional without a code.
