Hell again dear support,
I was under the impression that there was a feature to easily add thumbnails to the side of the blog title, maybe using the featured image functionality. Was I incorrect ? If not, how does one achieve this ?

Hi Aryeh,
Thanks for reaching out.
There is no such option to add any additional thumbnail to the Post in the WordPress. The WordPress resized the featured image to thumbnail and a few defined size which are used in different section like Thumbnail is used in the Blog or Archive pages.
You can find the defined sizes in the Settings > Media at your Admin Dashboard, and you can change the sizes accordingly. If you change any one of that, please regenerate the images using the plugin named https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Sorry I didn’t quite get that.
You said Thumbnail is used in the Blog pages (that being the pages that show your posts with an excerpt). Isn’t that exactly what I’m trying to do ? Use them next to their corresponding post. (The post that use them as featured images.)
Hi Aryeh,
The Thumbnail size of the featured image will show in the Blog and Archive pages along with the Title and Excerpt. If you want to add any additional image for the thumbnail that you want to show as Thumbnail, that is not possible. Please remember that added featured image will be resized into the Thumbnail version while uploading the image as Featured image.
Thanks
This is what I want to achieve:
Ignore the part about post header and footer,
I just want the featured image on the left, the excerpt on the right, and the title above them.
Hi Aryeh,
You can achieve a similar structure by using the Ethos stack from Theme Options > Stack and set the Blog style Standard and layout Global.
But the Title will come up at the Right section of the image, not above the image as shown in your screenshot. If you still want to show the Title above the **content*8 and image, it requires customization which is beyond the scope of theme support. I would suggest you hire a developer who can assist you to do the customization or you can avail of our newly launched service called One, where the customization questions are answered.
You can also try by update the X to Pro where you can customize the Blog and other Archive pages as per your need.
I would suggest you go through the following article on the differences between X and Pro and how to update into the Pro.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Thank you. As it is simple customization like moving the title is not a problem (beyond for the time and efforts it takes), I know how to code, I’m merely new to WordPress. That sounds like a great service too.
Hi Aryeh,
You are most welcome.
