Formatting magazine posts and blog pages

Hi there,

I’ve been trying to set up a unique “blog” experience for a specific audience on our page: Pacify.com/library, and am having some trouble finessing the format. Please see a few questions below:

-Is there a way to change the vertical height of the Magazine Post containers? I’ve created multiple sections that populate with specific categories/tags - they look good when there are a lot of posts in that category, but awkward when there are only 2-3, spreading posts vertically with lots of white space (image below). I’ve tried changing the Max Height of the Main post/figure/featured image, but the container doesn’t change so the articles on the right stay spread out. I’d like them to simply stack and the image/main post to shrink.

-I’ve tried adding a sidebar nav to this page following these instructions, so that users could easily navigate between topics from anywhere on the page. Following those instructions, I can’t figure out how to get the sidebar I created to show up on the page.
-Similarly, I’d like to add a search widget to pull up multiple articles based on keyword tags. However, when I’ve tried adding the search elements in Cornerstone, using them automatically opens the most recent post tied to that word, rather than multiple articles. Is there a way to do that?
-Can I change the header nav on specific posts? I’ve specified a unique header nav to appear on this page, but when you click into posts the main site nav automatically appears.
-Is there a way to customize the appearance of archive pages? For example, if I view all posts in the category “breastfeeding”, the font size is very small in the subtext.

Please let me know if you have any questions about these, and thank you in advance!

Hi Courtney,

Thanks for reaching out.
Please find the answer to your queries below.

  1. Can you please clarify what do you mean by vertical height?

  2. You are using the Page Template which doe not have the Sidebar in it, I would suggest you use any of the Page Template which has a sidebar in it, to show the sidebar on the page.

  1. Where do you want to add the Search Widget, I have checked your page but didn’t find the issue you described. I would suggest you please provide any screenshot marked with the issue to recognize the problem.

  2. You can do that by using the Header & Footer* builder and creating multiple customize headers, where you can add the different navigation in the different Headers. But that is exclusively available with the Pro, not the X. To get the customizable headers, I would suggest you upgrade to the Pro theme, please go through the process here: https://theme.co/docs/converting-from-x-to-pro
I would also suggest you go through the following article on how to use the Header Builder and the setup of the navigations.

  1. You can customize that using the Custom Layout of the Layout Builder, which is exclusively available with the Pro, not the X which you are using. I would suggest you use the Layout Builder to create a layout with the structure you want and assign it to the specific Archive you want. Please go through the article and videos on the Layout Builder:

Hope it helps.
Thanks
