Customizer reloads

Hi,

When I open the Customizer, the site reloads every 5 seconds… even when I do nothing. It’s like being caught in a loop.

I already deleted the cache of the browser. What can be the reason for this?

Thanks for writing in!

Please go to Settings > General and make sure that the WP Dashboard URL is the same as the Site URL and WordPress Address URL.

Hi,

I deactived all my plugins and activated them again - one by one.

Now I found the plugin that causes the problem: “External Links – nofollow, noopener & new window”

But I don´t know why this plugin has effect on the Customizer page? Do you have any idea what is happening there?

I have uploaded you a video whit the reload effect. I will send you the video in a secure note.

I think found the problem! There was 1 sub-menu item in my main menu with a broken link - and this causes the problem. I removed the broken link and now everything works again.

But do you know why this is happening when this plugin is activated?

Hey Michael,

Thanks for updating in! Regretfully we do not have any full knowledge about the 3rd party that you are using. It could be that when there is a broken link or any link, the plugin checks it and when it does not conforms to the plugin’s functions, it redirects to the homepage or another link. This is just a mere guess. It is best that you contact the creator of the plugin to get the correct respond why it reloads. For the meantime, we recommend that you temporarily deactivate the plugin when you are making site changes especially in Cornerstone or in X > Theme Options.
