Classic Revolution slider not working

Hi,
I updated to Slider Revolution 7. But now my sliders have disappeared from my website on all pages.
When I go into Cornerstone to the pages and check the Classic Slider revolution: it says ‘no slider available’.

I contacted Slider Revolution Support, and they stated that Theme.co should “update their plugin to support Slider Revolution 7+”.

Can you help me out?

Auke

The problem is that the sliders need to be migrated in RS7, but apparently that’s only possible with a subscription now???

If that’s true, then we need a legacy version for those who don’t want to switch to a subscription!

I have a subscription. My sliders are visible in RS7. They were migrated. The problem is that the classic revolution slider widget isnt recognizing the sliders. So in Cornerstone, you can’t select a slider anymore on a page in the builder. It says 'no sliders available.

The shortcodes for embedding sliders has changed from SR6 to SR7 but it doesn’t look like the Classic Slider Revolution element has been updated to accommodate this.

SR6 [rev_slider alias=“slider-1”][/rev_slider]
SR7 [sr7 alias=“slider-1”][/sr7]

Go and grab your new embed shortcode from the slider and put it in a Raw Content element instead of the Classic Slider Revolution element. It won’t render in Cornerstone preview but it will show on the front end.

But aditionaly without a subscription there seems to be no way to migrate the sliders.

So for all who upgraded they will be stuck in a non functional setup!

That’s what I thought at first. But you could try this, as it worked on 2 out of the 4 websites I tried it on.

Restore to a backup with SR6.7.x installed, before the update to SR7.0.4 happened. It should allow you to do the migration of your modules and prepare them for SR7.

In the Overview, you’ll see Frontend Engine SR6, hover over that and click Switch to SR7 Engine.

After you’ve ticked the popup and confirmed the switch, do a page refresh you should see the modules have migrated.

Then you can update the plugin to 7.0.4, replace the shortcodes with the new ones and they should be working.

Like I said this has worked on 2 out of the 4 sites I have tried it on. One said modules were still not migrated and the other deleted my modules completely. But I just restored to the backup to bring them back.

For me these are old sites and I’ll probably switch to using the in-built slider in Cornerstone at some point.

Hope you have some success.

Also having the issue with the “Not migrated” message on old sliders. Need advice from @Theme.co on how to move forward

Thanks. I just solved by entering the codes in raw content elemant

Glad you’ve sorted it out @rainmakernl.

@The_Capture_Factory try following @boomfly advice above. Before updating, please remember to test everything in staging first.

@christian.

I did and now i have this

Hey @The_Capture_Factory,

What is the issue in your screenshot? That is the new interface of Slider Revolution.

Please create your own thread to answer the question as this thread is already resolved.

The sliders will no longer display on the page and i cant get into each slider to get any raw content or short code. If i click on the any of the sliders to edit it there is no response. My screen shot was to show the not migrated message.
If i create a new slider then i can edit it but the old sliders are not accessible. I can also not create any short codes as i don’t have access to each slider

BTW i know this is the new interface but my old sliders no longer work, the not migrated message might be a hint to someone in the know

Hey @The_Capture_Factory,

To confirm, did you already switch to SR7 Engine before updating? If not, please review the suggestion of @boomfly. If that still doesn’t work, regretfully, you will need to recreate your sliders in SR7.
