Can't update x theme - getting prompted to change to PRO

Hi there, I haven’t updated my Xtheme in awhile (using version 4.3.4) and when I try to update now, I’m getting prompted to switch X to PRO (which I’m not sure I want to do since I don’t want to lose the beginner web builder functionality of Cornerstone (it sounds like PRO is more for developers (which I’m not). I need the pre-designed modules that are included in Cornerstone. )

I can’t generate an API key in my themeco account - all i can access is my license number, but my site validation page is asking for the API which is not visible on my account page. (I think it used to be along with my license key?)

Can you tell me how to generate my API without changing from X to PRO?

(btw, Your tutorial link how to generate an API is broken - it directs me to a page which gives a 404 on your website for the instructions on how to get my API key: (I can login to my themeco account without any problem but can’t get there from your link)

These are the instructions that come up when I click on the “Product Validation” option under my wordpress “X addons” (theres no line in wordpress that just says X theme)

Step 1: Register

To get started, register for access to the member center. This is where you’ll have access to all of our resources including the Knowledge Base, support forums, and much more.

Step 2: Get an API Key

Once you have registered for access to the member center, go generate your product API key under the “Licenses” section. This key is used for automatic updates ([tutorial here]

To update your X theme to the latest version, please do as follow.

• I suggest that you create a staging area for testing the updates without breaking your live website.
• Once the staging area is up, delete the Cornerstone plugin ( this is to avoid any conflict when changing the X theme to the latest version)
• Download the latest version of the X theme in your dashboard
  
  
• Go to Appearance > Themes and activate another theme like ( twenty twenty-one or any other theme ), this will allow us to delete the current X theme installed on your website
• Click the X theme then hit the delete option
  
  
• Upload the X theme latest version you downloaded
• Then install the latest Cornerstone plugin from the link provided
  
  

If you follow that steps, you just need to input your license key from your themeco dashboard and you are now good to go.

Please note that your X license is available to upgrade to Pro for free.
