Buddypress & Youzify Broken due to Pro code

Hi @charlie,

This is a problem that was raised with Alex before he left and is still a problem now. I believe Alex was going to add a way (in customize?) to turn off the buddypress integration in Pro.

Currently having buddypress & youzify installed breaks because pro have buddypress code in the theme/framework/legacy/templates/buddypress overrides the buddypress code.

by renaming the theme/framework/legacy/templates/buddypress folder, the code is fixed again.

before renaming the folder:

after renaming the folder

renaming the folder works, but that will become undone whenever the Pro theme is updated.

Please can we have the option in customize to disable that folder (bit like we can turn off portfolios)

Absolutely we’ll do that. If moving the folder fixes this, I have a feeling the entire integration needs work, but as a quick response we’ll have a filter to disable the integration.

Any time. Plugin updates are handled by Themeco’s Rubin, but I’m always happy to pass upgrade notices to him.
I did not have issues with BuddyPress and Pro, so something about the trilogy of them together.
If I had to guess it’s us using the “legacy” buddypress templates and that conflicts with Youzify. If you’re throwing plugins on top of buddypress I kinda doubt you need our X templates at that point.

So In the next release we’ll have options in the buddypress section to disable entirely, or disable the use of our templates.

You beauty @charlie !

Thank you for the BuddyPress ‘fix’ allowing switchable templates is a godsend… and means I can update Pro without manually removing the templates via ftp

Music to my ears, glad that headache is over.
