Blog options disappear when using a personal header

Hi,

I am using Pro.
I have built a header but when I assign it to all my website (“Make global” when editing my header), then I lose the “Blog options” in X > Theme Options >Blog
I have tried to unassign my header to the Blog posts index page and then I can see again the blog title and subtitle (and the breadcrumbs) but of course I lose the header that I have built…

I could keep my new personal header on all pages (selecting “make global”) and then edit my blog post index page but I don’t find how to edit this page.

Thanks for your help!

Hey Jeremy,

Thanks for writing in.

You are not seeing the Blog Header options when you enable the Header Builder because the blog options you mentioned are part of the header template.

What you can do is to create a separate header that you will assign to the blog/post page and place the text that you were supposed to set in the blog options in the custom header. Then assign the header to the Posts Page:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer and your solution.
I’m gonna add a second bar under my header and will place the title of the Blog post index page inside this bar.

Concerning my second question, could you tell me how to edit:

  1. the blog post index page ? (I might be able to edit everything with the header + some blog options like font/colour of the text)
  2. a template for the posts pages (so that every post have the same appearance) ?

Hello Jeremy,

Thanks for updating in!

1.) The blog index or once you have assigned a page as your blog index (Posts Page), you can no longer edit it with Pro Editor or the default WP editor. You can find it more about it from here: https://wordpress.org/support/article/creating-a-static-front-page/#how-to-create-a-static-front-page. You can see it in #2.

With Pro theme, the blog index has been pre built with unique design in each of the respective stack that you are using. You may be able to style it up a bit by going to the Pro > Theme Options > {your-stack} > Blog Options and in Pro > Theme Options > Blog. You can play around with the style and layout of the blog as well as the post meta and the excerpts.

2.) The posts pages or post layout will be following the global layout which you may have set in Pro > Theme Options > Layout and Design > Content Layout. You can select “Fullwidth”, “Content Left, Sidebar Right” or “Sidebar Left, Content Right” layout.

To learn more about these settings, you may check out our documentation here:

Hope this helps.

Thanks!
I am gonna follow your advices.

You are most welcome!
