I started this thread on changing the blog layout but it was closed before I could reply (I’ve been away): Possible to build a 2 over 6 archive layout?
I see the edits @ruenel made but they’re not what I’m hoping for. So, let me ask this. Is it possible to change the layout and filter what is shown on the Posts page? If so, can it be done using the Layout Builder instead of building something with a child theme?

Yes, it is possible to change the layout of your Posts Page (Blog Index). You cannot filter the blog index and post archives because WordPress will dynamically generate the post items in chronological order.
