JasonParticipantI want my site with X theme to look like my site right now with the Sydney theme. Also X must also have an inbuilt slider option in the Customizing area

JoaoModeratorHi,
I have did some changes for you.
1- I changed the page template to Blank No Container Header Footer, as suggested before.
2- I have turned off Auto optmize and WP Rocket temproarily while you are developing your website, you should use those plugins just once your website is finished.
Now of course your Navbar is not looking good over the text, you should add an image to your section or a below the navbar.
You are editing your page on wordpress classic editor, so there is no container on your text, you can edit like that, but I would recommend you using shortcodes or even better take the benefits of Cornerstone Page Builder that is incredible.
Please let us know your next questions,
Thanks

December 27, 2016 at 10:43 am #1305915
JasonParticipantBy the way, can you please explain by what are shortcodes and where are they used?
December 27, 2016 at 10:49 am #1305918
JoaoModeratorHi Jason,
Cornerstone gives you ability to do all those things, it is an incredibly easy page builder.
I have been a client of X before working here, and I used to build pages using Visual Composer (which is also bundled with X and it is also really good) but since Cornerstone was released it has always amazed me – This I talk as user not as support member.
Of course there is always a small learning curve, so I do reccomend you watching the videos on our knowledge base:
https://community.theme.co/kb/
You also can find good tutorials on youtube.
Also on Knowledge base you have the shortcode lists, if you are not a developer I reccomend you using Cornerstone, no doubt.
Your menu is not edited in Cornerstone. It is edited via Customizer, I also reccomend you watchin the Customizer series.
When I build my websites I always start using the Customizer to set the general style of the pages for later on build the pages in Cornerstone, I would recommend taking this path.
Please take your time to understand Cornerstone and let us know if you need further help or if you have questions once you watched the video series.
Thanks
Joao

JasonParticipantI understand every single thing about Cornerstone. What is really hard for me is that X is quite complicated for me ! Right now i edit my site on a mobile device, and using chrome, i have the ability of using desktop size.
What i dont appreciate is the templates provided with X. With a container, it appears as a box. (See screenshot 1)
Without the container, it gets cluttered (see screenshot 2)
