WPBakery Page Builder new version 6.2 available

Hello there,

got this message on plugins page “There is a new version of WPBakery Page Builder available. View version 6.2 details. Automatic update is unavailable for this plugin. …”

How can we get that WPBakery update?

Checked the latest supported version at https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility - it says 6.2 there.

Theme Pro 3.2.3.

Thanks.

Hello Netzwerk,

Thanks for writing in! I can confirm that the update is not appearing in the plugins section although update is already in the repository and available for first time installs. WPBakery Page Builder 6.2 is now available already as stated on this page: https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility.

Kindly deactivate the WPBakery Page Builder plugin and/or delete it completely. Go to X/Pro > Validation > Extensions section and reinstall the plugin again. This time around, you should be getting the latest verison which is 6.2.

If nothing is helping, provide us access to your site so that we can check your settings. Please create a secure note with the following info:

Regards.

Thanks for your feedback, WPBakery 6.2 is now installed.

  1. deleted plugin folder completely via FTP to avoid any data loss due to possible “deactivation” and/or “uninstall” hooks
  2. opened Pro > Validation > Extension
  3. WPBakery was still listed as installed and active, hmm…
  4. tried to refresh things with Pro > Validation > Autom. Updates > Check now
  5. WPBakery was still listed as installed and active, hmm…
  6. opened WordPress plugins page, a note was shown on top like “js_composer… not found”
  7. opened Pro > Validation > Extension again
  8. now WPBakery was gone and could be installed

Could be considered as a bug in Pro, it obviously only relies on database entries of WordPress to decide if a plugin is there or not.

Is your described way the official procedure for all extension updates?

Hello @netzwerk_net,

You should be able to automatically see the updates for the bundled plugin in your dashboard.

We have reported this to our developer so that they can look into it.

Also, here is a link about updates for more information:

Hope this helps.

Hello @jade, thanks for your feedback.

Unfortunately your link has no information about updates of third party extensions.

Is the described way of @ruenel the official procedure for all extension updates?

Hi @netzwerk_net,

The standard way of updating your bundled plugins should be through the dashboard if you have the theme installation validated.

However, you also have the option to do it manually if necessary. The steps @ruenel shared is a workaround in case you are not seeing the plugin update in your dashboard despite force checking.

Hope this explains it.
