Wordpress gallery not showing in Cornerstone - fix?

Hi again. Since I’m busy working on my site right now, you’ll see post more often…sorry for that.

Anyhow - I know that I already mentioned this some time ago but I wonder when there’s finally going to be a fix for the wordpress gallery not showing in Cornerstone. I don’t expect it to show the photos or anything - but at least a placeholder should be doable right? I mean - it’s a native Wordpress thing - why hasn’t this been adressed by now? I have tried classic text, raw content and content area - none of them shows an indication that there’s actually something in the element. I always have to go to the schematics view to select the item and change stuff.

PLEASE solve this!

Hey @umbertofederico,

Please click the image icon under Rich Text editor of the Classic Text or Text element.

Then you can add a gallery.

If this is not what you mean, please provide more details and screenshots.

This isn’t what I mean. I know how to add a gallery but once the photos are loaded, the element disappears in cornerstone (in the visual preview). I can only see and inspect it in schematic view.

Hi there,

Is it the essential grid? Would you mind providing an exact URL and screenshot? I checked the blog and clicked on any posts, then there is a gallery on the right side, but it’s not Wordpress gallery + justified image grid. But when I checked it in the builder, yes, it’s Wordpress’ gallery shortcode.

How did you do that, I checked essential grid’s documentation and can’t find similar implementation like this.

And for the meantime, I can’t load the builder’s preview on random occasion do to </html> error. Please do this first https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/the-preview-html-did-not-include-a-closing-html-message/14443

Or is it okay to turn off your plugins especially the cache plugin? I can’t do that while your site is live.

It is Essential Grid now (work in progress) but it didn’t show with Justified Image Grid replacing the gallery nor does it with Essential Grid.

In Essential Grid you can tell the plugin to use a predefined grid to exchange the gallery shortcode of Wordpress. See the attached image.

The closing html message came up with the last update - but doesn’t affect the preview in any way. It sometimes just takes longer to load. However - I’m gonna turn off caching for you.

I just want SOMETHING in Cornerstone to show up - a grey box, a gallery placeholder - something to tell me there’s content and let me select and inspect it. Is that really so hard to do?

Hi there,

Thanks, yes, I did that when I checked it but won’t work on my install even in the front. So I’m not sure what’s correct, but thanks for sharing.

But I’ll add this to our issue tracker as the bug since the integration is just between cornerstone and essential grid, and not for Wordpress gallery that uses EG’s assets.

Please stay tuned, for now, you may use the skeleton mode to your builder to select the element with the gallery just when you wish to change it.
