I didn’t get a memory error but instead got a critical site error on four sites that had auto updated to 6.2 from 6.1.1. Disabling X allowed access to admin. Reverting to 6.1.1 worked.
See this thread. Upgrade to 6.1.10 before upgrading to WordPress 6.2.
