Woocommerce products with cornerstone data

HI there–a previous ticket I had was closed prior to finding a solution: WooCommerce Product Import

I have over 130 products that utilize cornerstone elements to display product information etc. Whenever I try to import these products none of the cornerstone layout information is honored. It displays as “text” but is not with the cornerstone editor.

This is a MASSIVE amount of work that will have to be replicated–how is there no process/method for importing cornerstone layout information outside of saving as a template?

The solution outlined by @prakash_s in the ticket we had opened previously does not solve this issue. The product import works of course, but, again, none of the cornerstone “shortcode” layout is being honored.

Hi @speckledjay,

Thanks for reaching out!

I suspect that the product export/import plugin you are using will not export the Cornerstone data correctly. Please note that you cannot edit or modify Cornerstone content outside the page builder and vice versa because it might ruin your data. That being said, saving the product as a template is the best way to export the Cornerstone data from your staging to your live website.

Hope that helps.

No, this doesn’t help at all actually. Sorry, but this is the same circle I’ve been sent running in for quite a while here with no viable solution.

Which export/import plugin SHOULD I be using in order to make sure that Cornerstone data is properly handled?

Please provide a very solid example of a process/plugin that works for this–not just for woocommerce but for any/all Cornerstone content (blogs or pages or other CPT).

Please. Even saving and importing the cornerstone products as a template is the equivalent of over 60 hours of work. whereas a functioning import/export would solve this in under an hour.

  • Import/export plugin that works with Cornerstone content
  • Process for exporting/importing the content

Hello @speckledjay,

The Tools > Import/Export functionality of WordPress will not import/export the Cornerstone data correctly. This is what is happening on your end. The only option you have is using a migration plugin which is what we have indicated on this documentation article:

The migration is not an option for you because you only want to import specific products. The Template Manager is not an option for you either. The only one left is to upgrade to the Pro theme. After exporting/importing the products using the Tools > Import/Export feature of WordPress, you can then go to Cornerstone > Layout Builder, which is only available on the Pro theme, and the use the template manager to create the layout for your single product pages. I am assuming that all of your products has the same layout.

And if ever, your single product layouts have different layout because you have used the Cornerstone builder to edit those product pages individually, your option would be the migration and then use the Theme Options Manager to import/export the styling of your sites. If needed, you may use the Template Manager if there are a few pages that needs to be imported as well.

Hope this helps.
