Widget / Sidebar Themeco

Hi,

How can I add a sidebar to the Crafty theme? I have created a sidebar in the “appearance --> widgets” area and then went to customize to find a solution and was given the notice “your site has 9 available widget areas but none are available on this page” except zero of the pages/posts/portfolio can show widgets.

I would like to have a typical sidebar as seen on most websites for all pages/posts on my website, how can I do that with the crafty theme?

Thank you!

Quick follow up, I am looking for a solution in which I can have a sidebar available whilst the content can retain the format of a fullwidth site under the layout and design option in customize. When I alter the site layout, I can add a sidebar but then the posts become MASSIVE and I would like to retain the look of the 1st photo with a sidebar not the second. Thanks!!

Hello @astersblog,

Thanks for reaching out to us. By default, the Crafty demo site does not have a sidebar. It is being set as a fullwidth site. If you want to have a sidebar on your site, simply go to X > Theme Options > Layout and Design > Content Layout and set it to “Content Left, Sidebar Right” or “Sidebar Left, Content Right”.

You can also check out this documentation as well for more information about it:

Best Regards.

Yes,

I do not want to do that as when you add a sidebar it completely destroys the content shaping and makes everything massive. Can I add the sidebar another way whilst keeping the layout of the fullwidth site?

Hello @astersblog,

With the X theme, you can only have the sidebar on the left side or on the right side. There is no other way to display the sidebar on the theme. We do not have any other option to have a sidebar for your site.

Cheers.

Dang, would love for that to change eventually. Thanks!

We will note that and add as a feature request.
You are most welcome!
