Where to put extra HTML?

So I am using ChatGPT to help optimize SEO and it is having me add some additional HTML to my home page

Where exactly would I want to put the new HTML it wants me to add?

It also wants me to add some things to my footer too, where would I add that HTML to?

Hey John,

Thanks for reaching out!

You can use the Raw Content Element if you want to add some HTML code to your homepage and footer.

Hope that helps.

Ok great, where would I want to add this, to Section 1 of my homepage?

Can I add the all of the HTML, including the footer in this Raw Content box?

Just not sure exactly where/what section to add it to.

Thanks!

Hey John,

Would you mind sharing with us what ChatGPT advised you to do? In that way, we can give you proper guidance on how to do it.

Thank you.

what is the code I use to add code to a post so it doens’t post the pictures?

Hey John,

You can just copy and paste the image here or you can use external link to view the image.

Thank you.

no the code is going active and making the images populate when we need to evaluate the code - so what are the code brackets to use so the code is visible and not active?

I tried the blockquote and preformatted options and well as <code></code> and nothing works and the images populate instead of the code

Hello John,

You should be adding like:

<code>The random HTML code here</code>
<pre>The random HTML code here</pre>

If the code do not display and gets rendered by the browser, it could be that you have inserted a broken HTML code. It is best that you share to us the URL of the page so we can inspect and figure out a way to resolve your issue.

Best Regards.

I tried both PRE & CODE and you see the results I got - I don’t know why

Can you see the code I pasted?

It would be helpful if the actual code pasted and not the images so we can review the code together - looking at the images doesn’t help - other than the fact a couple of them aren’t populating, which I’m not sure why - do you have any ideas whats going on?

I added all of this code to a “HERO” / Section 1 of my Home page on OhioCannabis.com

Chat told me that some things like the Footer and Hidden H1 & H2 should go in the body and footer - so I would like to take those out of the Hero/Section 1 and put them where they belong

I’ll add login information to this message so you can dive deeper if you can.

Thanks!

We moved the html on https://pastebin.com/Kn3nUtCK

The hidden html is already inside the body tag or element. We are not sure why ChatGPT recommended this to you, because according to Google’s spam policies, hiding text is not recommended. It’s possible that this answer is from older threads, back when these spam policies didn’t exist yet.

https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies#hidden-text-and-links

Instead of hiding text, try using dynamic elements such as Accordions, Slideshows, or Tooltips. This is also recommended here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies#hidden-text-and-links

Hope this helps.

Best regards.
