Website layout goes completely wrong after upgraded to X 5.2.5

Hi,

I purchased X theme a couple of years ago and am very happy to use it to create my website. The website works good until I upgraded to X 5.2.5. The layout is completely wrong since then. Could you please help me fix it as soon as possible? If needed, I have individual csl files for each webpage saved before.

It is urgent!

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for writing in, what you’re experiencing now is a known issue with Cornerstone and CloudFlare. Please follow the solution provided here.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Hi @Friech,

Thanks for your quick response, but the issue is still there when I tried your instructions. Could you please look into this issue again?

To exclude my URL from Cloudflare’s caching, what I did is to go to Cloudflare’s Page Rules page, then select Cache Level: Bypass for my URL (myWebsite.com/x/*). Is that correct?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

Can you provide us your site url so we can take a closer look.

For the mean time please make sure that you also have updated Cornerstone plugin to latest version - Cornerstone 2.1.7

Thanks

Hi @paul.r

I am using Cornerstone 2.1.7 version already.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi There,

Thanks for sending the website URL!

I couldn’t find any layout issue in your website, may be because I haven’t seen your old layout, except a blank box with a close (x) button in bottom left section.
Here I have posted few videos of various page in your web site.

Hey there,
Please check for the following first:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.
  2. Clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.
  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.
  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  7. Contact your host to increase your allocated memory or do it yourself by adding this code in your wp-config.php
    define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );
    define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );

In case the issue persists, would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:
Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials
    All the best!

Hi @basanta

Here you go. Please check what is wrong. Thanks.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

I can’t get the actual error due to redirect, and that redirect is caused by WPML. Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials so I could check the actual error?

And please check the secure note.

Thanks!

Hi @Rad,

Thanks for looking into this issue. How can I get FTP login credentials for you? Sorry, I am a newbie for website maintenance.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi there,

You may need to contact your hosting provider about your site’s FTP credentials. I’m not sure which hosting you’re with so I can’t really provide instructions on how to get it.

Thanks!

Hi @Rad

I don’t think we use any FTP client. How to find who is my hosting provider?

Thanks!

Hello There,

Your site seems hosted in GoDaddy.com that’s according to the whois information of your domain. I also found out that you are using CloudFlare. Please make sure that you are using the recommend CloudFlare settings. Please check it out here:
https://xthemetips.com/using-cloudflare-rocket-loader-with-x-pro-and-x5/928/

Please make sure that JS/CSS minify feature in CloudFlare > Speed tab is disabled. Please purge your site cache and test it again. You may need to clear your browser cache as well before testing the site.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi @RueNel,

I did your suggested changes on CloudFlare several hours ago. It fixed the issue that my website was messed up. So the layout is back to normal now, but it didn’t fixed the issue that I couldn’t use Cornerstone to edit my website anymore.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in! You are experiencing minify issue caused by CloudFlare. Please give us access to your CloudFlare so that we can check it.

Regarding your ftp, please check this out:

Regards.

Hi @RueNel,

Please check it. Thanks.

Hello There,

Could you please give us your CloudFlare credentials?

@RueNel
What are CloudFlare credentials? Where to find them? Are they password, API key or something else?
Thanks!

Hi there,

How did you set up your domain’s CF? Have you just changed its nameservers? We’re referring about the login credentials for this site https://www.cloudflare.com/a/login

The CloudFlare’s nameservers are given upon logging in

Name Server: LOLA.NS.CLOUDFLARE.COM
Name Server: MARTY.NS.CLOUDFLARE.COM

Have you remembered that? Or maybe someone set it up for you? If you’re not familiar with it and not intended to use it, you can simply contact Godaddy and change your domain nameservers back to the standard instead of CF’s nameservers.

Thanks!

@Rad

I already provided the CloudFlare login name and password. You still cannot login from your end?

Thanks!
