Hi Gregory,
Thanks for reaching out.
The open_basedir issue is related to your PHP configuration settings, I would suggest you contact your Hosting Service provider on this.
You can find a similar issue that has been resolved for others in the below thread.
Thanks
Hi there
We have been in touch with the host they have told us it is not a PHP config error, it is a cornerstone update error.
Specifically with the definition.php files. According to our host these paths have changed with the latest update, and need to be corrected. There is a file thats been added to the path called wwws and according to our host the environment is not up to follow this path.
Can you send us the correct paths or correct update file so we can load it manually? Either that or can I give you a login to have a look?
Hi Gregory,
I can confirm that there are no path has been changed within the theme. I would suggest you activate any default theme like TwentyTwenty and check if that issue is exists. If that still exists, please go through the articles in the other thread I mentioned in previous post, and ask your Hosting Service provider for further help on this.
For your information I am adding the thread again.
Thanks
Hi Gregory,
I just confirmed with our development team and they have corrected this and the warning will not output in the next release of Cornerstone and Pro. The warning itself is harmless and there won’t be any adverse effects on the site. Meanwhile, you can avoid seeing it by disabling WP_DEBUG or adjusting the PHP configuration as described in the given thread.
Thanks for understanding
Hi @tristup
We are facing the exact same issue on a few of our xTheme websites.
When enabling WP Debug (true) we receive the same errors when Cornerstone is activated. Deactivating Cornerstone solves the warning but the site will not function.
When disabling WP Debug (false) the site, and keep Cornerstone activated, the complete site turns white when still logged in. When logged out, the front page will works, but wp-admin is not accesible. When renaming cornerstone on FTP the wp-admin parts starts to function again.
Any ETA on the update? We have one site which is non-fixable at the moment becuase of this issue
Update:
I did have a small suspicion is all started after upgrading PHP from 7.4.20 to 7.4.21
Reverting to PHP 7.2 / 7.3 fixes the problem for some reason. Probem seems to be present on PHP 7.4.21 and PHP 8
Hi @tristup ,
What about the fix, any ETA? Reverting to an older PHP version should not be a fix., but i have no other choice at this moment.
Hi @mhooijer,
Downgrading the PHP version is a temporary fix till the next update of the theme or Cornerstone comes, please stay tuned for the succeeding releases.
You can also see my colleague Alex’s comment on this in the following thread.
Thanks
Hi @tristup ,
Thank for the info, will wait for an update.
Your colleague @alexander does state “The warning itself is harmless and there won’t be any adverse effects on the site” in the topic you linked. However, two of our sites are completely broken under php 7.4 and php 8 while Cornerstone is active with this error.
Kind regards
Hi @mhooijer,
Sorry to hear that it broke your sites, hope the upcoming update will resolve all your issues.
Thanks
