Using Detection of Operational System in condition in Cornerstone is that possible?

Hi,

I’ve got another question. Can we in Cornerstone currently create conditions to show or hide elements based on a visitor’s operating system? Let’s say we want to show one link to the mobile App if it is iOS and another link if that’s an Androud device.

I found an extension for Twig that could be helpful, but since Twig is still in Beta in Cornerstone, there probably aren’t any available extensions yet.

Hello Ian,

Thanks for writing in! With the help of the Twig API, you can also add your custom extensions. Feel free to check this documentation:

Best Regards.

Thanks, @ruenel.

Please provide a step-by-step guide on adding an extension to Twig at some point if you can, using real examples, such as the one I mentioned or a localization extension. Maybe on your YouTube channel or in another format for dummies. The new features like External API and Twig are appealing and inspiring for non-coders but require a basic understanding of how they function. And the explanations we need for that should be more basic and simple than very limited general info for coders.

I truly admire the outstanding work the Theme.co Team accomplishes in this area. That really extends the learning curve in web-development for not that experienced devs, but we need more simple learning materials. I know it distracts you from developing your great products, but there’s a large audience eager to use them if the complexity can be understood.

Thanks again for your affords!

Hey Ian,

Thank you for your feedback. We’ll try to be as simple as possible in our docs going forward.
