Update is now not letting me choose column type (1 column , 2 column) as it is asking for a grid plugin

Hi, Im getting the following error when creating new rows in cornerstone. Usually I select the amount columns I need for a layout but not its not letting me.

Undefined Element: This element could not render because its definition is missing. You might need to activate a plugin.

Hi @tulslolst,

Thanks for reaching out.
It might be due to the improper up-gradation of the Cornerstone plugin. I would also suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the Cornerstone.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone existing one
  2. After deletion please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

If that does not resolve the issue, I would suggest you troubleshot a few common issues on this.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization

It’s still not working. If I duplicate any old rows I can change the columns but any new ones I add bring up this error still. Iv never had this error before.

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

I have checked the Home Page top section and found that the Layout can be changed and it affects the Frontend too. If you are talking about the builder is not showing that column change output, that might be due to the layout for your builder is selected with the different column settings.

If that is not the case and you are trying to point out something else, please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that helps us to recognize the problem.

Thanks

If I edit any pages that have columns already it is fine. If I add a new page and a new row section, that’s when the error appears.

Hi Chris,

Your screenshot shows that you are using the Grid element, but unfortunately, that is no more available with the X theme, and that is why it shows the Undefined Element. Please check the following thread for more information on this.

And I have also checked by creating a new test page and the column structure does not come up with that shown in your screenshot and worked perfectly fine.

Thanks
