Update broke all my sites

Last nights update added an extra closing tab to my top section, which closed the <div id="cs-content" class="cs-content"> div in the wrong spot.

I have to fix it because the site is a production site, but this is an inexcusable problem. How is it possible no one tested this before it went out? I have clients emailing me all morning.

I have attached a screenshot.

Also all of the HTML code is showing broken characters:

Hello @mikeburke4,

Thanks for writing in! It seems that a broken HTML code has been inserted on the page and created these issues.

Best Regards.

What part of that giant block of code is broken? And if it was broken HTML code, why would it affect all 20 sites I have that use cornerstone?

Hi @mikeburke4,

I have checked your website but didn’t find the issue anymore. Can you please check it once and let us know if you are still facing the same issue? If yes, please let us know how we can replicate it in your website.

Thanks

This is a production site. I had to put a workaround in place. Look at the code I sent, there’s an extra closing tag where there shouldn’t be one.

Read my first post before you dismiss the issue. It’s been a week now.

Hi @mikeburke4,

Sorry that I missed the comment in your first post. To examine the issue, I would suggest you please copy your live site to a staging server and revert the changes you made for a production site, so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks
