Unable to update theme... or Wordpress even though I am the system admin

Apparently for some reason our theme suddenly became disconnected and it acts as if I am not the system admin even though I am in fact the admin. Please advise!

it’s saying the latest update was 4.1.1 and I know we are much further ahead than that… im just not sure what’s going on! Sorry

Hello @morode,

Thanks for writing in! You are using a way older version of the X and Cornerstone. You will have to update the the X theme and Cornerstone manually instead. Perhaps this documentation can help:

By the way, we highly recommend that you create a staging site and clone your current live site. With the staging site, you can update the staging site first to Pro 5.1.5, double check for any errors or issues and then troubleshoot if there is some incompatibilities and issues. Once everything works perfect, you can proceed to update the live site.

The login credentials you provided doesn’t work. Please provide the correct login credentials.

When I checked your site’s frontend, it looks like you have not activated the Cornerstone plugin. Please ensure Cornerstone is active.

when I try to install it, I get this error: Unable to install Cornerstone. Could not create directory. /data/17/4/144/25/4307514/user/4930601/htdocs/wordpress1/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/

That is an issue with your web host. Please contact your web host support and have them follow the WordPress File Permission standards detailed here: https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-file-permissions/

Hey @morode,

In that case, no plugin can be installed in your site not just Cornerstone. Please contact your web host as I previously mentioned as this is not a theme issue but your web host.
