Top level links on inline menus not working on iPads if a dropdown is present

Hi, I found in this old post that the solution to this would be to make the submenu indicator be the trigger for the submenu. However I can’t find that option in the Navigation Inline element, only in the other elements like Navigation Modal.

Obviously the solution here is to use the Navigation Modal, which is fine for when people are on tablets in portrait orientation, but when they use a tablet in landscape orientation it is so wide it shows the same menu that I’m showing on laptops and desktops; where the client really wants it to be an inline menu.

Is there a way to have tablets in landscape orientation show a Navigation Modal element but to have laptops and desktops show a Navigation Inline element? In other words, some way to identify the site is on a tablet and change elements based on that which doesn’t involve view width?

I image with the higher res larger tablets this is becoming a widespread problem for anyone with drop down menus.

Perhaps this question fell through the cracks? 22 hours without a reply yet questions posted just a few hours ago already have replies…

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Please do not bump your thread because self responding it or any response to a thread takes it back to the end of the queue.

By the way, you can use both Navigation Inline element and the Navigation Modal elements. You just utilize the “Hide During Breakpoint” option to show or hide the element in a specific screen size. Perhaps this documentation can help you:

Best Regards.

How did I “dump bump” my thread by mentioning my concern it had fallen through the cracks?

Also, please reread my original post. Nothing in your reply addresses my questions. It’s clear in my post that I’m already hiding and showing different elements based on screen size. I also specifically mention that I’m looking for a way to have elements show or hide without relying on screen size as tablets in landscape mode now commonly meet or exceed the screen sizes of laptops and even desktops.

Hello @NMWeb,

We apologize if we took several hours to reply to your thread. In some case, we forward specific issues to other staff who have an actual device for further investigation of the issue. While waiting for it, you may have bump the thread which is why it was back in queue.

Meanwhile, at the moment, we only have the screen size as the basis for the “Show/Hide” during breakpoint option. We do not have a landscape or portrait mode detection. Are you using an iPad Air or the iPad Pro? And please provide us the URL of your site so that we can test and try to replicate the issue.

Thank you for your understanding.
